They have completed their work and are now taking a day or so to visit the Mayan ruins at Copan. They built a house, and made eight latrines, among their other projects. Wednesday, September 17, 2014. May, 2014 Trip Report by David Makepeace. Through our local part-time facilitator, Joel Ramírez, Yovany had done a fantastic job setting up our work projects. The trip began in La Laguna with a meeting with the Health Committee in the clinic. The meeting was productive, and the next day we headed to our work area. Wednesday, April 22, 2015. NY/HELP After 25 Years. In 1989, NY/HELP. Honduras began with strong support from churches in New York State. Twenty-five years later, NY/HELP. Is still going strong. In the clinic, Mirtila Garcia is our full-time nurse, providing year-round care to the people of the indigenous Mataderos tribe. In doing this, they helped many community members to develop leadership skills. Yovany and Joel were also instrumental in planning projects for our two NY/HELP. Mission trips in 2014.

Friday, August 7, 2015. Group heads to the village. This morning the group is shopping. They are buying food, school supplies and diapers to take up to La Laguna. Then they have the fun of cramming all of it, as well as themselves, into (& on) a pick-up truck for the trek up the mountain to the village.
