Friday, April 3, 2015. April 3rd, 2015. History. When I was younger, I didn't really care for it much at times, but now, it saddens me to see it go. There is so much we can learn from it, but so much we don't and it's just discarded. Today I took a couple of passionate fellow photographers on a walking tour through the historical community of Inglewood. Some of Inglewood's oldest buildings (including the iconic brewery) date back to the late 1800's. Between the 1910s and the 1950s, the company’s fo...

Monday, October 3, 2011. Hike to Twin Falls - 9.25.2011. I picked him up at 6:45am and we headed out towards Field. The trip was easy as winter hasn't hit Alberta or the Eastern part of B.C. yet, and the scenery was amazing as it always it. It was supposed to be another hot day of close to 30 degrees celcius. We've had a fantastic summer this year, probably the best in about 10 years that I can remember. There it is in it's majestic beauty! We then started to head uphill towards Laughing Falls. Along...

Sunday, May 19, 2013. As many of you know, I love wildlife. I love being outdoors, and photographing animals of all kinds. May long weekend presented itself with the normal outrageous fuel prices, but I never have let that stop me from venturing out into the mountains. Well, on the way along the 1A west of Cochrane, there were quite a few hawks sitting on the top of the telegraph poles.a promising sign for wildlife for the day.hopefully lol! There were tons of hawks up GVR too! What a great trip! My phot...

Friday, January 30, 2015. Barns and Black and White. 8220;The eye should learn to listen before it looks.”. 8213; Robert Frank. This last weekend I took a drive East of Calgary to find barns. And find barns I did! I visited some really "out in the middle of nowhere" tiny towns/villages and areas I'd never been to before, and found some amazing barns which I'll be revisiting very soon and spending some more time there. Next time hopefully with a sunrise to go along with these gorgeous country gems! Awesom...

Monday, October 13, 2014. The last couple of weeks I've found out that Shawn, a security system specialist, and someone whom I've gotten along with well since I started at the datacentre, has a huge interest in photography as well. He also loves old abandoned things, and has wanted to try his hand at long exposure water shots. We were going to go to Upper Kananaskis Lake, but a storm blew in and it was even snowing a bit so we kept going to my favorite roadside waterfall; O'Shaughnessy falls. Exposures o...

Monday, March 18, 2013. Cabo San Lucas - Day 7 - I'M ON A BOAT! Cabo San Lucas - Mexico. I'M ON A BOAT! Nobody I knew though. Our first stop was the Cabo San Lucas glass blowing factory. These guys have amazing skill! Took lots of photos of them and their creations. This information added 3.18.13*. Went around some of the shops there and even a sea lion came into the harbor and was hanging out near where we were. Got LOTS of photos of him lol. The boat was fantastic! It was really cool to be snorkling in...

Friday, February 22, 2013. This beauty I spotted on a post on Hwy 22x just East of Hwy 24. It stayed there for quite a while, even with me out of my car and standing on the shoulder of the busy highway. I took another step towards it, just to get a bit closer for my 500mm lens, and it flew off. No problem though! I'm hoping to get out Feb 24th for a drive SE of the city again, to see if I can spot some more, and hopefully take my girlfriend with me as she loves owls too. Follow Me On Twitter. Last year I...
