New Zealand Rail Maps: November 2015
http://nzrailmaps.blogspot.com/2015_11_01_archive.html
New Zealand Rail Maps. The official blog of the New Zealand Rail Maps project. Tuesday, 17 November 2015. Project storage moving to Google. So I have set up a new Google drive and it will be used for the project files to be synced to from the computer I use to edit the maps. At the moment the published files (PDFs) will stay where they are as there may not be enough space for all the files to be in one place and there is no problem that they are causing with space where they are at present.

New Zealand Rail Maps. The official blog of the New Zealand Rail Maps project. Saturday, 27 August 2016. MSL Palmerston-Dunedin [4]: Port Chalmers - Blanket Bay. The westernmost part of the Port Chalmers siding and the MSL passing through Tunnel 7. Blanket Bay originally had a tunnel on the old coastal route of the line, which was replaced by the Sawyers Bay tunnel with the completion of the causeway deviation in 1948. The causeway has never had the second track laid, although the Sawyers Bay loop wa...

New Zealand Rail Maps. The official blog of the New Zealand Rail Maps project. Wednesday, 16 November 2016. NZ Rail Maps From Here. As most will be aware this blog has not had a post in about 2 months, and in fact I have not done any mapping activity in that time. For the most part I have needed some time to look at where this project is going, and how it fits in with other new interests I have developed in that time. Labels: Otago Central Railway. New Zealand Rail Maps. The official blog of the New Zealand Rail Maps project. Tuesday, 31 May 2016. The reason for putting the data into the Stations table is that the same labels formula can be used for both mileposts and stations, which allows distance data to be recorded for stations as well. The label formula looks like this:. Trim(concat("caption", ' ', "Distance",' ', "Unit", ' ', "Label", ' ',"Distance 2",' ', "Unit 2", ' ',"Label 2", ' '). Tuesday, 24 May 2016. The route was originally built fro...

Tuesday, 1 September 2015. Current Progress: Otago Central and Clyde. I am still looking at other scans I can get done for the Clyde area itself that will help to fill in some of the details. There will now be three maps for the 2nd Clyde station area: 1977, 1981 and current. This is due to the fact there...Ashle...

So in future posts in this page will nearly all be from my Enzed Transport blog and you can look them up and search them there because FB does not allow them to be structured in that way in the page. This is my personal blog about NZ transport subjects with a particular focus on rail. Wednesday, 12 August 2015. Otago Central Railway photos. As it happens I have two major albums of photos of the Otago Central Railway. I'm trying to work out at the moment why there isn't only one. Still. First up I have the album of photos taken on two trips to Clyde in 1987 and 1989, in its twilight years. Https:/ www.flickr.com/photos/kahukowhai/albums/72157639262361043/. This is my personal blog about NZ transport subjects with a particular focus on rail. Thursday, 23 April 2015. Dunedin-Port Chalmers Railway [2]: Ravensbourne-St Leonards. Ravensbourne bay has a causeway and the old railway probably went along the side of the highway. The station may have been a little closer to the highway originally. Maia station was between a couple of bays. Just north of St Leonards is another small bay bypassed. In total on this map four bays with causeways are shown. All of the bas...
Enzed Transport: December 2014
http://enzedtransport.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
This is my personal blog about NZ transport subjects with a particular focus on rail. Wednesday, 31 December 2014. From that we can see that the map is part of the NZMS13 series and that it was first drawn in 1902 according to the title. The map only really covers the Wyndham to Glenham part of the map but I haven’t yet looked up the map for the Edendale area. The second useful map of the area is the NZMS16 Wyndham township map published 1926 and first drawn in 1904. So we can see in this present day map ...

This is my personal blog about NZ transport subjects with a particular focus on rail. Friday, 29 March 2013. NZ Rail Maps Diary 2013-03-29. Due to other priorities very little was done this week. A small amount was spent on the Palmerston North-Milson area where there has been some speculation that the third leg of the triangle could be built to allow for Karioi-Napier pulp trains to run straight through without stopping at Palmerston North. Saturday, 23 March 2013. NZ Rail Maps Diary 2013-03-23. Darfiel...

This is my personal blog about NZ transport subjects with a particular focus on rail. Saturday, 29 June 2013. In general blogging has gone out of fashion for me for various reasons. This blog has now been replaced by a Facebook page. For the time being there will not be further posts on this blog. Https:/ www.facebook.com/NZRailMaps/. Sunday, 23 June 2013. Amberley in 1987 was the last station on the MNL before Waipara. It was almost closed by that time with the yards mainly storing track materials.

This is my personal blog about NZ transport subjects with a particular focus on rail. Sunday, 31 May 2015. NZ Rail Ferry Rail Decks and Linkspans. Clearly the nearest set have a wharf lever and mechanism but how did the stubs work? The next question to be answered is what layouts were used inside the ships. This ship is, I think, in Italy and it uses 3 into 4 with one set of points within the ship. But the linkspan is interesting because it appears to have tandem pairs of switches actually on the span.

The heavens declare the glory of God. The skies proclaim the work of His hands. Tuesday, 21 August 2012. New photo sets posted: Bexley Footprints, Central City, Railway Station. Over the weekend I took and added three new photo sets. View photos in the set “Bexley Footprints”. Unfortunately the lens needed cleaning, this caused blurring effects in many photos in the top left corner and also in the previous day’s photos which went unnoticed. View the entire album – Christchurch Railway Station (City).

NZRag - Updates incoming (9:11pm, Monday, 12 September 2011). Managed to get back into the administration console. Win. Now, I've put in a new BB (the old one is pretty hosed). People will have to register again for the new BB, but I won't be shutting down the old one - just disabling posting when all the forums have had their new versions created. Please bear with the terrible theme in the meantime until I can fix it up - I only just got access back, so this will take a little bit to get right. The new ...
