Monday, May 14, 2012. I created this 66' Sei Whale for the Baltimore National Aquarium's Outreach Program a few years ago. Last week I was asked to draw the skeleton of said whale on the clear side of the life-sized mammal. Here are a few photos of the free-hand drawing session. Pulled my daughter Maya out of school that day to help and learn about the 66' giant. That night we made some flash cards of her experience in which she showed the class at school the next day. Monday, April 9, 2012. The Painter of Light. Thomas Kinkade is someone I thought would live forever. Painting until he could no longer hold his arm up to brush his delicate highlights on his serene scenes. He harbored the talent and detail to examine and announce the beauty of any landscape. Paying close attention to where light travels is something I have seen attempted by many. In my humble opinion, only a few succeed. But who am I to judge that? Rest in peace, painter of light. Wednesday, June 13, 2012. In "Crescendo", I wanted to simply offer sound as a tangible object. Sound, visible to the naked eye, flying outward and upward from an old, washed up piano. The seagulls, sampling both small and large notes, ascending into the late afternoon sky to encompass and create the essence of the sound itself. Tuesday, June 12, 2012.
