Exploring all things craft beer. Why We Keg Our Homebrews. This entry was posted on July 9, 2013, in Orange County Brews. By now we have had our home brewed ales going primarily into kegs for the past 6 months. It seems everyone starts with bottles and if they brew enough eventually finds the value in kegging and pouring home brews from a tap. Well there are some advantages that made the decision the right one for us:. Let me know if you need help setting up your homebrews on tap. I’m sure you ...July 10...
Extract vs. All Grain Brewing | occraftbeer

Exploring all things craft beer. Extract vs. All Grain Brewing. This entry was posted on July 10, 2013, in Orange County Brews. We tried an all grain (no malt extract) recipe for the first time last week and learned some things. We still have yet to finish fermenting the summer wheat brew so we aren’t sure how it will turn out yet but I think our noble attempt could be improved, albeit our equipment was not really ideal for attempting this approach. Here is what we learned:. The heat needs to be graduall...

In Amy's Eyes: Easter 2015
http://inamyseyes.blogspot.com/2015/04/easter-2015.html
Thursday, April 9, 2015. We had an amazing and busy Easter this year. First we had a picnic and egg hunt with my MOPS moms. Since we meet after bedtime, this was my first time meeting most of their kiddos. New friends! We also attended the Easter Egg Hunt at our church. We attended the same event last year. We didn't have enthusastic hunters this year. Alex is a bit too young and Colin figured out the eggs have things in them and wants to open them immediately! It was 1st Easter for both baby brothers!
In Amy's Eyes: The Happiest Day on Earth

Saturday, November 13, 2010. The Happiest Day on Earth. See Some of the wedding video here. Gavin and I have been married for three months and I'm realizing that it's never going to be easy for me to write this blog. I think I've started it half a dozen time and every time ended up starting over. I was happy to have Nathalie. S blogs to read in the meantime! There are so many great pictures of the day, but on the other hand, none of them fully capture all of the feelings and the true beauty of the day.

In Amy's Eyes: My baby is One!
http://inamyseyes.blogspot.com/2015/06/my-baby-is-one.html
Wednesday, June 10, 2015. My baby is One! It is nearly impossible for me to believe that it's been a year since this little guy arrived! Alex has brought so much joy and adventure to our family. Alex's party wasn't until Saturday, so we spent Friday celebrating with family. We decided to set up for the party a day early to give Alex some time to play in his own personal amusement park for his birthday! The first gift Alex got on his birthday was from his big brother. Some quick notes on my Big Boy:.

In Amy's Eyes: March 2010
http://inamyseyes.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 28, 2010. This week certainly does a good job of trying to balance the wonderfulness of last week. Still, my family is mostly healthy and happy so no complaining! Gavin left for London Friday leaving me with a weekend frighteningly devoid of tasks. After dropping Gavin off, I met up with Jen. For some much needed decompressing. Had an awesome dinner and evening. Which reminds me, my bike needs a name. Especially now that we've gone through so much together. Suggestions? Yourself if you want.
In Amy's Eyes: December 2014

Wednesday, December 31, 2014. New Years Eve: Auld Lang Syne. This Christmas Eve is seems both appropriate and crazy to think of times long past. I'm overcome with the thought that 2030 is now as close to the present moment as 2000. 15 years later, and tonight I am again celebrating at home , but this year at my own home with my husband and my mom. I have two kid of my own sleeping happily upstairs. Monday, December 29, 2014. Alex is Seven Months! My itty bitty baby! Alex is doing great with solid food!
In Amy's Eyes: May 2015
http://inamyseyes.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 28, 2015. Alex is 11 months! Super late, but guess who's 11 months old! Okay, now SUPER super late. I'm so behind! But since he's ONE YEAR tomorrow time to post anyway! No measurements since his last doctor's appointment. 3 (but only because I have a TON of 3's left, he should probably be in 4s! I know you are supposed to wait until 12 months, but we've started whole milk and he's a huge fan. Alex took his first steps! I can't believe my baby is about to be a toddler. Too fast! How I defeat...

Sunday, March 29, 2015. 10 month old Alex. No measurements since his last doctor's appointment. 9 months, some 6 months and some 12 months. Alex eats like crazy, especially lately. Colin has discovered that Alex will eat anything and tries to use him as a disposal service for foods Colin doens't want to eat. Still a great sleeper! Alex can stand by himself! He's done it a handful of times and it's only a matter of time before he's walking, I know. He also started clapping! Photographer , runner, painter,...
In Amy's Eyes: Club 33!
http://inamyseyes.blogspot.com/2010/09/club-33.html
Tuesday, September 21, 2010. Disneyland is my favorite place. I love the Rides, the atmosphere, the families laughing together. Over the years I've collected all kinds of Disneyland trivia. At some point, I heard about Club 33. Club 33 is behind an unassuming door tucked away in my favorite land: New Orleans square. New Orleans was solidly my favorite land already, housing both the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean, but the addition of a 'secret club' cemented the title. We hadn't really thoug...
