Wednesday, January 8, 2014. Ontario Science Center: August 2013. Our second day in Toronto was spent at the Ontario Science Center. The science center is a short drive from downtown Toronto, but is easy to find and has free parking. We went to the "KidSpark" area first, as it is designed for young children. They had an impressive Rube-Goldberg type contraption that the kids could feed small balls into. Matthew could have spent the entire day here! Matthew made a hot air balloon fly. He also made a cloud.

Sunday, December 23, 2012. Gingerbread Houses, 2012. We bought a kit containing 4 miniature gingerbread houses from Michael's. It always takes me a while to figure out how to put the houses together without making a huge mess. This year, we had a new saving grace. Nolan's 60 cc feeding tube syringes make excellent. Sunday, January 19, 2014. Our apple trees bore fruit again this year. Picking the apples became a neighborhood event for the little ones on our street! I was surprised by the number of apples our little Macintosh trees produced. I had enough for several pies! Next year, I will have to can them - or make a lot of applesauce. Monday, November 5, 2012. Trip to Washington, D.C. - Day 2. The first order of business on Friday morning was the marathon expo - Dennis and his dad needed to pick up their bibs and sign in for Sunday's marathon. Monday, March 25, 2013. In Which Spring May Never Come. The snow won't stop falling. We had one brief, beautiful attempt at a spring day, and then the snow returned with a vengeance. The first day of spring dawned with a foot of fresh-fallen snow. The snow has not stopped falling since the first day of spring. It compresses over time, but we have not had a single day without snowfall. My cute little dwarf irises have been completely buried now, and not a petal is showing. At least snow pictures are cute!
