Sunday, May 10, 2015. Right To Read Week. I wasn't going to enter the family cake contest for Right To Read Week at school this year. There's just a lot going on right now. This year's theme was weird- another throw back to 1865 in honor of the parish's 150th anniversary. But seeing as we have won the contest the past few years and had a reputation to protect. Sunday, February 1, 2015. So this is new. Maybe I didn't notice before because, though Rick is the primary cook in our house, he usually isn't following a recipe. One of his thousands of amazing talents is his ability to create beautiful, delicious meals from experience or instinct or creative imagination or whatever that magical stuff is that makes people great cooks. Sunday, May 10, 2015. This year so I knew we had to celebrate in a big way. I will be eternally grateful to my friend, Angie, and her family who let me deliver 57 pink flamingos to their house. Which they then assembled. Packed them up in the trunk of their car. And delivered to our house under the cover of darkness so that Rick could awaken to a crazy pink surprise. He was tickled pink (heehee) and all the flamingoes are still in the yard. It looks like a regular Queen of Hearts Garden Party around here.

Sunday, May 10, 2015. On this trip to Charleston we stayed at Folly Beach. Which was like visiting an old friend. Folly is the beach where we hung out back when we were locals. It was nice to see that is hadn't changed too much. The beach house we rented was a dream. The decks on the front of the house overlooked the ocean; the decks on the back of the house overlooked the marsh. We had breathtaking. Views of all the sunrises and sunsets. Sunday, May 10, 2015. We drove back to Ohio on Good Friday which seemed like a fitting way to spend a quiet day of reflection. Will pointed out the flaw in my thinking, though. By driving to South Carolina on a Friday during Lent and driving back on Good Friday, I had deprived my family of one of their favorite car snacks: beef jerky. Sorry, guys. Small sacrifices. Luckily, our Lenten sacrifices were soon rewarded. We woke up on Easter morning to find the Bunny had visited. They Clean Up Nice. Yes, we are.

Saturday, May 9, 2015. As the sun set. On 2014 we headed to our traditional spot- Hocking Hills. To unplug, unwind, and spend a little quality time doing some of our favorite. Things- basking by the fire, crafting, hot tubbing, discovering the wonders of nature, and eating like kings (no pics of that as I was busy at the time, eating like a king). As the sun rose. On 2015 a hike. To Ash Cave seemed the perfect way to spend the first day of a new year and balance. Out some of that eating like kings we did.

WE WEREN'T BORN IN TEXAS, BUT WE GOT HERE AS QUICK AS WE COULD". Sunday, July 29, 2012. Utah Camping and Four Wheeling. Friday night we met Kip and Chantel at Box Elder Campground in Mantua Utah for a night of camping in the mountains. On Saturday we met up Maria, Nick, and Grandma Bing. We rode 13 mile to the top of Willard Peak that overlooks the Ogden valley. We had a great time. Saturday, July 21, 2012. April Family Reunion @ The Park. It was great to see everyone.
