October 18, 2015. Sycamore Gap – LJ Ross. Having reviewed Holy Island, the debut novel from L J Ross, ( https:/ bookagoodread.wordpress.com/2015/07/30/holy-island-a-dci-ryan-mystery-by-l-j-ross/. I have now read and enjoyed the second in her series about DCI Ryan and there is nothing in the first which is missing from the second – she brings the same level of writing and story telling skill which was so evident in her first book. Missing, Presumed | bookagoodread
https://bookagoodread.wordpress.com/2016/08/26/missing-presumed
August 26, 2016. The cover of this book tells us that this is the first DS Manon book by Susie Steiner. That implies that there will be more which pleases me greatly as I have really enjoyed this book. I don’t normally. Like the use of different characters to voice each chapter, but I actually found it particularly helpful here as it was used to explain how each person was dealing, or not dealing, with the events as they unfolded. One of my novels – FORBIDDEN LIAISON – didn’t have a happy ending and some comments I received were not that favourable, whereas, A LIFE ONCE HAD did have a happy ending and has received very favourable reviews. One of them being:. A good read. I almost felt I was a witness. What praise indeed: I couldn’t have wished for any more words than that short-but-sweet phrase, because it told me the writing was vivid and leapt off the page. Although I have not been writ...

Patricia I. Smith. Newer posts →. GLAD TO BE BACK (but not fully functioning). It’s been nearly three months since I had a right total hip replacement, and seeing the xray afterwards I wondered how that large piece of metal with three screws that appeared to be the size of my little finger, and a ball joint the size of an apple would stay in place, but it has, thankfully. Will explain about the gap in blogging next time. BRETAGNE, HERE WE COME. Perhaps, the music of the sixties? A BIRTHDAY TO REMEMBER.

Complete Disregard for Spoilers. Read This First To Remain Unspoilt. Chess has been handled in the past. Here are some examples:. A Game of Chance (Jon Osborne, 2012). But she even manages to botch going upstairs to arrest them. Not a comedy. A Game of Chance is going to get its own post, because it’s terrible enough to be wildly instructive, but here’s a writing tip by way of preview: If you find yourself writing dialogue where all the characters are complaining that things are boring, that’s not clever...

Bloggy Bloggy Bloggy Oi Oi Oi. Goodbye Thailand… 3. April 16, 2015. August 23, 2016. So there I was; 2 red wines in and weeping on the shoulder of the unsuspecting Bahraini man who was sat next to me on the flight home from BKK to LHR. Ok I wasn’t quite weeping but he did offer me a tissue at one point, so perhaps I shed a tear or two. Mostly aimed at teaching primary children). Probably lots of things I don’t feel like I was the strictest of teachers). Anyway; kids will be kids and all that and generall...
