My rating: 3 of 5 stars. The trouble with reading these Roy Grace books out of order is that the baby keeps popping back into the womb, and in this case it is made more complicated by flashbacks to 12 years before, so keeping track of the action gets a bit complicated. It's nevertheless a readable crime novel, though more of a police procedural than a whodunit - the reader knows more than the police, and so it is easier to work out who the perpetrator is. We’ve had a few rainy days in the last couple of weeks, and on Sunday last week my wife Val bought some Barberton daisies in various colours to plant outside out bedroom window. Here is a close-up picture of one of the flowers:. We like it, because we used to have such a bush in the garden in Melmoth in Zululand, where we lived 30 years ago, and so it reminds us of home.
