One Teacher's Journey

Sunday, March 8, 2009. Wellit has been quite a week. Quite an emotional week. For those of you that teach, you understand the friendships that we develop as we teach side by side with each other. I have found that my school is a bit different.different in a great way. We really are a very tight staff. Not only are we close to those we teach with at our grade level, but each staff member. This pneumonia just won't go away. Well, his mother noticed his belly was a bit swollen, so she took him in to see...

http://oneteachersjourney.blogspot.com/2008/12/taking-on-quads.html

Thursday, December 4, 2008. Taking on the Quads! WellDad and I took the kiddos out to the desert this past holiday weekend and exposed them to the world of quads, rhinos, and motorcycles! We had such a great time. The girls really enjoyed zipping around and e. Xploring and racing each other. I must say, Madi, took to it rather quickly! She loved the quad and was driving around alone. Now.the little one, Boo, scared me half to death! I wasn't sure how my old. So, I managed over the two days to get it down!

One Teacher's Journey: July 2008

http://oneteachersjourney.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html

Saturday, July 12, 2008. Taking time to enjoy life. It is so humorous to me how much our likes change as we get older! The idea of planting a garden was the farthest thing in my mind. Especially planting a garden for enjoyment! My how things change! I thought about it a few years ago. But never took the time to plan one out. Never allowed myself to really think about "actually planting" a garden. Gardenting is for older people.isn't it! I mean the grandparents on our block all have one! I planted the box...

Tuesday, November 11, 2008. Opening a can of worms. We (my husband, myself, and a few friends) have been having a few conversations. Regarding the very controversial. Subject of "What causes autism? I know.I know.touchy subject. Are they "born" that way? Is it the shots we give them at a certain age? State are seeing a huge rise in Autism. The theories are endless. A Cali Girl Momma: Yuck!

http://acaligirl.blogspot.com/2009/02/yuck.html

A Cali Girl Momma. How in the world, blogging universe, do you get a 3-year-old to stop the most disgusting and foul behavior you can think of? He's putting his fingers in a place where no fingers belong, and I am not talking about his nose people. Do they have books on this matter? I need a book. Do I need a parenting book or a picture book that says, "Don't stick your fingers there? Quite frankly, I don't want to see a picture book like that and I'm pretty sure such book wouldn't be publishable. Yeah -...

A Cali Girl Momma: Foreclosure

http://acaligirl.blogspot.com/2009/02/foreclosure.html

A Cali Girl Momma. I know the political season is over. I tried to stop talking about it. I can't help myself today because my butt feels burned. His new bailout is my new beef. Why am I busting my bum at work? Why did I even go back to work? Should I quit and let my family become threatened by foreclosure just so we can be bailed out and enjoy our lovely home on hardworking Americans? I feel us becoming more and more socialistic all the time. 5 People Raise Their Wine Glasses to Me:. The political seaso...

A Cali Girl Momma: Lessons Learned So Far

http://acaligirl.blogspot.com/2009/02/lessons-learned-so-far.html

A Cali Girl Momma. Lessons Learned So Far. Things I have learned on my quest for a healthier life:. 1) Chewing a piece of sugar -free fruity gum helps cure my craving for a sweet treat. I recently discovered a pina colada flavored Trident White. Delish. When will they have a chocolate sugar-free gum? Now that's something I could really, really use. 3) Once 8-10 glasses of water a day become a habit for you, you find yourself sprinting to the bathroom less often. 8) After 7 weeks of drinking only 4 ounces...

A Cali Girl Momma: Diapers

http://acaligirl.blogspot.com/2009/02/diapers.html

A Cali Girl Momma. I buy my diapers in bulk at one of the big buy in bulk stores (like costco). I went today to buy 2 boxes, and in the time span of one month the cost of said boxes has gone up $6 per box. That's right - $6 in one month. That was a 15% increase in cost over 1 month. What the hell? How can they do that? I am so annoyed.those little pampers point do not make up for the cost! 6 People Raise Their Wine Glasses to Me:. Seriously, when will she train? I keep trying, she keeps refusing - ahhhh!

http://theinsanechef.blogspot.com/2008/08/chicken-scampi.html

Tuesday, August 5, 2008. 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast. Pasta Noodles (Your Choice). While the chicken is cooking cut your peppers and onion. You can either dice them or cut them into long slender pieces. When your chicken is about half done you can put your noodles on to boil. When the noodles are complete drain them and place them in a bowl of cold water to stop the cooking process as you don't want your noodles to be a messy clump. I will be sure to click on the ads 4 ya! Tip Of The Week.

A Cali Girl Momma: Knocked to our Knees

http://acaligirl.blogspot.com/2009/03/knocked-to-our-knees.html

A Cali Girl Momma. Knocked to our Knees. Where have I been? I have been through Pneumonia with 2 kids, an ear infection, 2 teeth and melanoma. It's been a rough couple of weeks, but I think we have pulled through it. So Little Man started with a fever one Sunday and just wasn't feeling good. I did what any. Little Man got his antibiotic on Sunday and starting taking that with the probiotic miracle powder (if you haven't used this stuff for your kids when they are taking antibiotics, start - it's great).

You better Belize it!

You better Belize it! Wednesday, April 29, 2009. Well this is my last post on this blog. I am now officially home. I have to say that it was sad to go. I have been back for about 30 hours and am still acclimating to being home. Waking up in my own bed was surreal, like waking from a wonderful dream. Belize was a dream, the experience of a lifetime. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Dr. Kubasko. Development after school with the teachers. This was one of the things they were really looking forward. An as...

One Teacher's Adventures

My thoughts, ideas, and adventures while teaching K-12. Saturday, 24 September 2016. Family Photo Shoot on the Windiest Day of the Year! This year for Mother's Day, my siblings and I got my mom a family photo shoot. We haven't had family photos taken with everyone since my grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary 8 years ago. My nieces and nephew weren't alive yet, so we needed updated versions! As I kept reminding my mom, it just made the photos look more whimsical :). Here are some of my favourite shots.

Method in the Madness | Because the course of teaching never did run smooth

Method in the Madness. Because the course of teaching never did run smooth. A Teaching Couple’s Experience at an International Job Fair. My husband (a Physics teacher) and I recently returned from an international job fair. We were fortunate to come out of the experience with new jobs and many positive experiences, but the process is so intense that I’d be happy not to go through it again anytime soon. What our job search looked like behind the scenes. With a healthy dose of cynicism). We looked for chur...

One Teacher's Perspective

Saturday, November 4, 2017. The Air Still Stinks. After a trail race last winter, I gagged entering a park restroom serving as a makeshift locker room for sweaty, muddy runners. 8220;It smells like crap in here,” I complained as I contemplated an immediate exit. However, with freezing temperatures outside, I had no choice but to endure the stench. Trying to ignore my odor-induced nausea, I cornered some space for my backpack and quickly got to work cleaning up. Walker’s wind has brought in an air o...

One Teacher's Take... is Another's Treasure!

Thursday, August 6, 2015. Made it Monday, but Posting Thursday! So here's my take…. Lucky me doesn't have to report back until August 31st,. So I am busy creating things for my classroom! I wanted a subway art sign for all to see when they enter my classroom. I found the right saying, but not the right design for me,. I had to make my own! I love the bright colors and the dots! As soon as I made it I had to put it up! I will have the poster in my TpT store if you would like one for your room. From Montgo...
