Meanwhile, in Sweden. Feb 16th, 2009 at 10:04 AM. Today's big news (so far):. The Pirate Bay (file-sharing site) trial has started. There's not much yet on thelocal.se, but here's a short summary. Also, the head of Sweden’s intelligence oversight agency just resigned. As a protest against the newish surveillance/wiretapping law. Respect. You can also read about it here here. There is a live audio broadcast of the trial available too but I rely on other people's comments about it. :-). View my Tags page.

I'm pretty sure I've written about it before, but I still think it's funny that we've done away with Lent in Sweden (Lutheranism and all that) but keep the eat-delicious-but-unhealthy-stuff-to-pre. Pare-for-Lent tradition in the form of semla. One who had incidentally been very close to invading Sweden in the Napoleonic wars) who was appointed king in the early 19th century. 4 comments Leave a comment. It's all so Swedish!

50 crafty projects in 2007. This knitting needle roll (for DPNs) is the best thing I've ever sewn. It's a gift for my sister. I wish the photos didn't suck, but it's impossible to get good lighting in December. It's made from patchwork fabric and polar fleece. I love the fabric - it reminds me of a Klimt painting. 50 crafty projects in 2007. Well, actually I was done yesterday, but one of these was a gift so I had to wait until the recipient had it. The bigger one is reversible (black on the inside) and was made with the help of this tutorial. The smaller one is a polar fleece-lined pouch for my digital camera, and was made using this tutorial.
