First Comes Love: The Vessel Sink
http://theloringblog.blogspot.com/2010/02/vessel-sink.html
Wednesday, February 3, 2010. Words cannot describe how much I love vessel sinks, especially those of rustic inspiration! If I had the chance to remodel a bathroom, one of these would be a must. . .and probably a budget-breaker. Another thing I love in bathrooms is all-slate, where the tile is seamless between the floor and the shower like this:. Oh the possibilities. . . . February 3, 2010 at 7:04 PM. First Comes Love: February 2010

Sunday, February 28, 2010. Blackmail. . . I am terrified of needles. It's not just that I simply hate them, the idea of having to get a needle poke keeps me up at night and makes me shake just thinking about having to go through it. Something about the shuffle of the phlebotomist, opening crunchy plastic packages and moving around in the moments before sticking a needle in my arm. Ick. My husband has blackmailed me. Knowing full well that I'm so ready to start trying for a baby, and knowing that I so.

First Comes Love: Maternity Photo Shoot
http://theloringblog.blogspot.com/2010/02/maternity-photo-shoot.html
Monday, February 22, 2010. Yesterday my friend Theresa and I spent a few hours outdoors capturing her 21 week baby bump on camera. Not only did we have loads of fun, but the snow and cloud cover afforded us the amazing and rare opportunity to do winter weather portraits. I have to say, I surprised myself! It's been years since I've done manual SLR photography (I've been cheating and using auto settings) but now that I've got the hang of it again the doors are wide open: watch out world. The Offer and Acc...

First Comes Love: December 2009
http://theloringblog.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 22, 2009. Zillow.com and Trulia.com have become my latest obsession, giving me direction to move on from ProjectWedding.com where I've realized that I'm getting over not only my wedding, but the whole planning phase in general. In any case, this home is on the market for $375,000. Sounds pretty high for an unfinished home, right? Not when you consider that this property was being built for sale as a $1,500,000 custom home. Fun to think about anyways! Thursday, December 17, 2009. Gosh ho...

First Comes Love: November 2009
http://theloringblog.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 30, 2009. Last year I went to a local nursery and picked out a tree for our living room to decorate for the holidays. This year, Dave found out that his company allows employees to cut down Christmas trees on their private property, so we set out this morning (Starbucks in hand, yuppies that we are) to hike up and get one for ourselves. Should have worn snow pants too. . .but I digress. We took a few celebratory photos and proceeded to chop it down. What a beautiful day - and a fun thing...

First Comes Love: October 2009
http://theloringblog.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 28, 2009. I was really touched today by an interview the Today Show had with the parents of a 6 year old girl who died of cancer. I find this to be deeply profound. . .I'm not necessarily a religious person, but reading this I have to believe that God gave her enough love for a lifetime, but not enough life to use it up. She had just a few short years to dole out all the love and inspiration that she could, and her outlet was these simple paper hearts. These are super easy to make, a h...

First Comes Love: Mudroom Remodel
http://theloringblog.blogspot.com/2010/02/mudroom-remodel.html
Tuesday, February 2, 2010. To prep our townhouse to go on the market, we did a remodel on our dated, dirty mudroom. It is in a basement where there is little natural light and thus tends to be dark by nature: it is also the entrance from the garage and a pretty large space. The laundry and a bonus family/bedroom/office/storage room (whatever it works out best as) are also in this basement area. The total cost start to finish was less than $500. First Comes Love: January 2010
http://theloringblog.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 25, 2010. Building From the Ground Up. We've seen about 30 houses now, and of those 30 we would have considered buying 4 of them. Our budget is $340K or less. The average home price in the city we want is $350 - $550K, and there are no cookie-cutter developments - only custom homes. BUILDING FROM THE GROUND UP. Something Dave and I have been talking about is building a home from scratch. . .buying a lot with incredible views, and building the home of our dreams. Done corre...That Dave and...
