Parcon has its own blog. I decided to create a blog dedicated to Parcon, so all Parcon-related posts will now be showing up on that blog. It's located at blog.parcon.opengroove.org. PyParsing examples in Parcon. Let's start with PyParsing's hello, world. From parcon import alpha word. Greet = alpha word "," alpha word "! Hello = "Hello, World! Print hello, "- ", greet.parse string(hello). Would have made the Parcon example follow PyParsing's behavior. From parcon import *. Element = Word(lower chars, ini...

OpenGroove

I (Alex Boyd) have had a ton of other stuff to do, so OpenGroove has been temporarily put on hold. There's also Google Wave to take into account, see my latest announcement below. Until something else happens, OpenGroove is going to serve more as my personal website than as the website for the OpenGroove project (like, for example, my blog. The rest of the page is the original page written when OpenGroove was still under development. You can read more about OpenGroove here. OpenGroove put on hold. With t...

Parcon

Is a parser library written by Alexander Boyd. It's designed to be fast, easy to use, easy to learn, and to provide informative error messages. Which is provided as a submodule of Parcon, is a formatter library. It's much the opposite of Parcon: while Parcon is used to parse text into various objects, Pargen is used to format objects into text. As an example, if you wanted to reimplement Python's json module, you would use Parcon to implement json.loads and Pargen to implement json.dumps. Parcon is open-...

Parcon

Parcon is available on the Python Package Index. The easiest way to install it is to open up a command prompt or a terminal and run this:. The PyPI page on Parcon is here. There's a link on that page to download the latest version of Parcon, if you want to download it by hand. Both of those methods will get you Pargen and Static, two libraries provided as submodules of Parcon, as well. Send an email to alex@opengroove.org if you have any questions or problems while using Parcon.

Python: package parcon

http://www.opengroove.org/parcon/parcon.html

Home/jcp/github/parcon/parcon/ init .py. Parcon is a parser library written by Alexander Boyd and James Stoker. It's. Designed to be fast, easy to use, and to provide informative error messages. And it's designed to include new, awesome things, like syntax diagram. Technically, it's a monadic parser combinator library, but you don't need to. Know that unless you're doing really fancy things. (The bind and return. Operations are provided by the Bind. Parsers, respectively.) It's. Parser = "(" ZeroOrMore.

javawizard: Parcon: a new parser combinator library

http://me.opengroove.org/2011/06/parcon-new-parser-combinator-library.html

Parcon: a new parser combinator library. Parcon is a Python parser combinator library I'm working on. I've released it on PyPI here. I've also released Pargen, a formatter combinator library, as a submodule of Parcon, but I'll write a separate blog post on Pargen later.). Expr = "(" ZeroOrMore(Literal("a") "b") ")". http://me.opengroove.org/2011/06/pyparsing-examples-in-parcon.html

PyParsing examples in Parcon. A lot of people at #python have encouraged me to port some of PyParsing's examples to Parcon, so I've decided to write up a blog post with some of those examples. Some of them parse the same input but produce output that's slightly different from what the corresponding PyParsing example produces; such differences are noted accordingly. Let's start with PyParsing's hello, world. From parcon import alpha word. Greet = alpha word "," alpha word "! Hello = "Hello, World! Print c...

This is really short because of the time, but I just found out that Gnome's keyboard switcher uses XKB's notion of groups internally. If you have USA as your first preference and United Kingdom as your second preference, it maps UK in as Group 2. This messes stuff up if you've doctored up your own custom symbol file that uses multiple groups. I just spent a good day trying to figure out why this didn't work, and it turns out it's because of that. Threading, locks, and Tkinter's after idle. Not the most u...

To my web server. Anyway, the alternative is called SuperTunnel. There are three main differences between SuperTunnel and HttpTunnel:. HttpTunnel has a tendency to get packets out of order when processing high-volume traffic. This caused SSH to repeatedly crash when I would use it to forward ports over HttpTunnel. SuperTunnel does not do this; I've verified that it works when both downloading and uploading data as fast as SuperTunnel will send and receive it. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Compiz and vanished animations in Jaunty. I figured I should probably mention this in case anyone has this problem and is stupid enough not to see the solution like I did. I recently upgraded my system to Ubuntu Jaunty, and noticed that a ton of window animations in compiz had disappeared. This, of course, frustrated me, as the burn animation is my personal favorite and the one I use on all normal windows. Download all four source code files, compile them, and run TrayTimer. I just got back from a party where a friend of mine told me the classic "Airplane seating problem", and the resulting answer. The answer was somewhat hard for me to believe, so, since I had brought my laptop, I pulled it out and spent 10 minutes writing this program to simulate the airplane problem. It turns out that the answer he had told me is correct. I'll be darned. Import java.util.Random;. There's a common puzzle that goes something like this: There's a plane that. Private static int seatcount;.
