Sunday, June 20, 2010. After the initial walkthrough. Last Thursday we had our initial PCI. Our SS is busy at the moment, so the Construction Manager ended up taking his place. When we arrived we knew there was a lot of work still to be completed (major re-bricking etc), so we didn't feel we were in the position to sign the PCI document. Monday, September 21, 2009. A few dramas over the past month or two. Firstly, our CLE "moved on" from Carlisle Homes. We were left without a CLE for a good month (in which we had to speak to various different people about getting things organised for the house). We have just been allocated a new CLE "J". She comes across as being a lot more helpful than previous CLE, so hopefully this is actually the case! Lucky we are not in a HUGE rush for the house to be built at this stage. Saturday, March 27, 2010. Forgot to mention we have started shopping for the bigger ticket items! Got an Asko dishwasher on sale a couple of weeks ago. Last weekend we visited the Asko run out sale and managed to pick up a washing machine and dryer for less than half price (we still spent about as much as we would have if we got a normal brand because they are so expensive! Monday, June 28, 2010. 1 step forward, 1 step back. We went down to see the house on the weekend. Got a quote for concreting. Going to organise another one or two for later this week. Also went searching for blinds. We are thinking that we may go for:. Timber venetians with sheer eyelets over the top for the minor bedrooms. Curtains for the main bedroom (or venetians with sheers). Panel glides for the sliding doors. Possibly Romans in the living areas with some sort of sheer curtain/blind underneath.

Sunday, June 28, 2009. Day 38 - Frame Inspection and Roof Tiles Complete. Last Friday we had our building inspection and on Monday we received our report. Luckily everything went pretty well and we only had 2 issues picked up by the building inspector and I noticed an issue which I've also noted. 1 Frame corner blocks missing near laundry door. Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Day 159 - Settlement. Today we got the keys. Let's not get too excited though because not everything is finished yet. Due to the wedding and also my site supervisor's wife due to have a baby in the next week or two Metricon pushed the settlement a little forward to ensure we had the keys after we came back from our Honeymoon to move straight in. This is the front of the house on the settlement day with the deck installed. How much water they used. The fence pretty much done.

Wednesday, October 21, 2009. Day 153 - Fence Started. I've asked them to extend the fence down another metre and a half to my neighbours garage so we'll see how we go and if they do it.however they told me they would. I also took a few photos of the front now the render is complete. I'm pretty happy with how it came up, there is a splash of colour without being over the top and all of the colours go together. Thursday, October 15, 2009. Day 147 - To Be.Inspection Date Booked. Somewhat good news today. The Quality Assurance guys from Metricon went through the house and the house managed to pass. We're booked in for next Monday to have our final inspection. Metricon have advised us that they would rather not try and pull the floorboards out of the contract and they will install them for us. What I don't know is what this means to the handover date, I'll hopefully have that resolved in the next day or two. WEEK ...

Monday, October 19, 2009. Day 151 - Final Inspection. Today we had the final inspection and it all went pretty well. The flooring isn't in yet, it will be done after handover when the floorboards become available. The front deck will hopefully be done this week. We had a couple of pages of items that need to be rectified but nothing major. Hopefully the items will be resolved by the end of this week or worst case early next week. Today I received my weekly update from my site supervisor.unfortunately my stupid iphone cut out half way through the call and refused to let any incoming calls be answered so I didn't get to have the chat I was after. Today the data cables, telephone cables, tv cables, hub cables etc.were all installed by Opticomm's contracted company Techlife. The engineer was really friendly and accomodating.
