Renewing Our Prosperity Jar. September 3, 2016. September 3, 2016. When we moved here in the summer of 2013, we had it rough. I mean. We struggled to get settled in and that included financial challenges. A realistic food budget for us was $50 a week, if that. Once our financial challenges eased a little, I “fed” the jar m...Lately, t...

And there is salsa! September 21, 2016. September 21, 2016. After waiting for my husband to do it, it is, well, done! Look at this beautiful stuff! First, there are the tomatoes, of course, which are diced and mixed with whatever else is going into the salsa. Here my husband added cilantro, onions, jalapenos and habaneros peppers from our garden. After that, everything is mixed together in a bowl. Easy, right? My husband adds some lemon juice as well to keep the PH high. Wendy is a Pagan city hippie livi...

Our Prairie Ashram

This Week on the Ashram – 2nd Week of July 2014. By Matt on July 18, 2014. It’s been a busy week down on the Ashram. The break between spring planting and summer harvesting is quickly coming to a close. Cucumbers are ready to be pickled, leeks are ready to be fried, celery is ready to frozen, tomatoes are almost ready to processed, and the sweet corn is almost ready to be enjoyed. Looking forward, there are a number of things we need to get done in the next week:. Pickle our first batch of cucumbers.

Our Prairie Home

Tuesday, February 9, 2010. Hello My Friends.:. It's been a while eh? Since my last post. Since my last post, I have successfully moved from Edmonton, AB to Ottawa. Jeremie has found work and I am apartment hunting! I'm pretty excited about that, and am very much looking forward to my own place again. I had a lovely birthday since. In other news, I am desperately trying to grow out my hair. My husband loves long hair, but since dating me, I have never had longer than mid-neck length. It's not much, and si...

Our Pratt Pack

Thursday, October 20, 2011. While we were in Medford for Todd and Kinli's surgeries and my de-banding of braces we decided we should celebrate Kaprice's birthday while our family was all together (Todd had already started his new job in a new area so we had already been a part a week). Matches for candles because Mom forgot to pack them. The ceremonial First Bite. There was also dancing with cousins. And what's a Party without a trip down the Zip-line with Cousin Sarah.
