Pondering the Myriad Things: Deep Ocean Heart
http://myriadthings.blogspot.com/2010/07/deep-ocean-heart.html
Pondering the Myriad Things. One day I woke up and considered myself part of the planet instead of just living on the planet. This is what happened next. Sunday, 11 July 2010. For the past week or so it seems like wherever I turn, something to do with water or water issues has come front and centre for me. For example, earlier this week was the first talk. In Tricycle's retreat with Sensei Bonnie Myotai Treace. In this talk, (which is free, by the way - check it out! I hope, as a species, we grow up pret...

Ecological Journey: March 2012
http://ecological-journey.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 24, 2012. All cars are evil. My hubby started a new job on March 5. His office is in the next city and the bus connections leave something to be desired. So we bought a car. Insuring it turned out to be a big hassle and very expensive but we got it sorted. Now we got the car … and don’t drive it. Noticed that the weather has been terribly awesome recently? I come back to the evilness of cars . and litter . and lack of community spirit. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). For a better world. Born ...

Ecological Journey: September 2011
http://ecological-journey.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 27, 2011. I was a bit sceptical when suddenly all the fish in the supermarkets had eco-labels on. One day it's just ordinary fish from the ocean the next day it's caught sustainably, they want to make us believe. Read this short article from David Suzuki why fish need a bicycle. I have to agree. That's very sad though because I love fish, alive and on my plate. Thursday, September 22, 2011. Heat or no heat. I don't know the answer yet. 2) How much will the electric heating cost us ...

Ecological Journey: October 2011
http://ecological-journey.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 28, 2011. We now live in Ontario. This fact alone gives me reason to write several posts (e.g. about the wind turbine protesters! But I currently am too busy writing job applications so they have to wait. But a few quick remarks can be made. I am very disappointed that none of the supermarkets here sells organic produce. They do have packaged organic food but no produce. Even at the Farmer's Market organic produce is rare. Thanks to Pfennig. Saturday, October 15, 2011. And I just loved, l...

Ecological Journey: Slow Death by Rubber Duck in more detail
http://ecological-journey.blogspot.com/2012/06/slow-death-by-rubber-duck-in-more.html
Sunday, June 24, 2012. Slow Death by Rubber Duck in more detail. In the last chapter of the book, the authors summarise each chemical again and how best to avoid it, even though it's virtually impossible to escape any of them completely since by now they are so spread around in our environment (water, air, soil) that only moving to Mars might help. Phthalates – plastic softeners. And www.momsrising.org/notoxictoys. Have databases for tested toys. Very persistant and indestructible, stick around the envir...

Ecological Journey: July 2012
http://ecological-journey.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Last Call at the Oasis. I watched Last Call at the Oasis. Also http:/ www.takepart.com/lastcall/. Recently at the cinema, the so called last part of the "Participant's Media Crisis Quartet" after Food Inc., An Inconvenient Truth and Waiting for Superman. It was a great documentary for sure and disappointing as always how few people came to see the show considering only one was scheduled. Time to wake up! The film was presented by Community Renewable Energy Waterloo. States that "A...
