Pam's Progress

Progress on and off the needles. Sunday, August 2, 2015. On my tablecloth I have finished all the red hearts surrounding the honeycomb Centre. I have continued with the filling in of the Centre, still a long way to go. This is a new start. Dipping my toe into the murky waters of doing a HAED. A second finish in the flowers SAL. I didn't enjoy the back stitching but it is good to have it done. The question of the month is " what makes you pick up a long abandoned UFO rather than beginning a new piece ".

Pam's Progress: February 2015

Progress on and off the needles. Friday, February 6, 2015. I have a new project to add to the SAL. Is is the angel of spring, a lavender and lace design. I have not made any progress on my cushion but I have on my tablecloth, it just doesn't really show on a photo. To this month's question. How do you overcome that feeling that you're in a rut with a particular project. Like many others I put the project aside, but try to work out the reason for the rut, to see if there is a work around the problem.

Pam's Progress: Lots of finishes

http://www.pamsprogress.blogspot.com/2015/05/lots-of-finishes.html

Progress on and off the needles. Friday, May 22, 2015. I sent off another quilt for Aussie Hero Quilts. I finished 10 dish cloths for the kitchen. It doesn't look like a very big pile but there are 140 washcloths there. They will be going to Ethiopia next month. It has been lovely to get some big projects off the list. Leaving a Legacy: May 2014

http://pams-ponderings.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html

My quest to leave finished things of beauty and not a pile of stash or ufo's. Friday, May 2, 2014. I spent three days last week at a quilting retreat. As you can see by the photos, it was a beautiful place to get some stitching done. I am still loving stitching the tablecloth. I stitched some more hearts along the edge, some of the straight borders outside the hearts, filled in the honeycomb pattern at the edge and started filling in down the centre. http://pams-ponderings.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

My quest to leave finished things of beauty and not a pile of stash or ufo's. Monday, May 23, 2011. This beaded lace cowl was made from yarn left over from previous lace projects. It was my first attempt at knitting in beads. I used the method where you thread the beads on the yarn first. I wasn't that happy with the end results. The beads didn't sit exactly where I wanted them. I should perhaps have used larger beads but I wanted to use what I had. It was knitted in Knitpicks lace yarn.

My quest to leave finished things of beauty and not a pile of stash or ufo's. Thursday, February 20, 2014. It was my privilege recently to make a wedding quilt for a very special couple. Here are the beautiful couple. The bride is from India so I primarily used the fabric line from Leesa Chandler called. There are 9 Mariners Compass blocks which will always point you home. There are red and gold log cabin blocks. These reflect the colours worn by the bride and groom. And stylised lotuses into other panels.

My quest to leave finished things of beauty and not a pile of stash or ufo's. Saturday, August 10, 2013. This top had been in the cupboard for about 10 years. I used it as a teaching sample for an advanced patchwork class. The stitching was by hand. Reverse appliqué butterfly and flowers ( my design). I machine quilted the top, firstly with the walking foot and then free motion quilting. I traced the design onto Golden Threads paper. Here is a closer look at one of the finished quilted squares.
