Running Water Is A Beautiful Thing. I race to the bathroom; turn the water on; strip off my clothes; shampoo my hair; get brave and even use conditioner. Oh, such luxury! I lather up; I think I’m even going to shave my legs! One leg down; one to go. Conditioner still in my hair; soap on my body; hair on one leg – and the water starts trickling. Nooooo! This can’t be! A Hidden Gem-Fort San Lorenzo. After hearing about Fort San Lorenzo from another ex-pat we decided to check it out since we had not previously traveled to this area. The fort is located west of Colon, at the mouth of the Chagres River where it meets the Caribbean Sea. Our dogs were excited to get to go on a car ride and enjoyed this outing too until they started to overheat. I can’t believe we’ve been here ten months. Perhaps that explains why I notice things less and less each day that surprise me? You can never escape the long arm of the law.
