Saturday, 14 April 2012. Goldfinch in the garden. This beautiful goldfinch was singing away in the garden yesterday. I'm a little worried that the small, lightly-speckled, greyish eggshell I found by the back door may have been his. Was walking the dog with Jon at Milton Country Park and he noticed this little hammock in the reeds. I think it must be a reed or sedge warbler nest. After such a dreadful year, with my Dad being poorly and difficult times at work, it was wonderful to have such a lovely weekend away with the family at the end of 2011.
