Wind From a Distant Summit. 2017 Expedition to Tirich Mir 7708m, Nor’West Pakistan. August 2, 2015. I have decided to plan ahead to 2017, and start organising a trip to climb Tirich Mir (7708m), the highest peak in the Hindu Kush, and highest peak in the world outside of the Himalayan/Karakoram chain. Its high, but involves nothing like the costs of an 8000m, and doesn’t come with the crowds. The first ascent was in 1950 by an Italian team, and there are a number of other routes, including unclimbed.
