http://drjessicainnepal.blogspot.com/2012/08/best-hospital.html
Dr Jessica in Nepal. General Surgeon serving at Tansen Mission Hospital, Nepal. Wednesday, August 8, 2012. Here's the article from our hospital website that talks about it:. The annual Health Awards ceremony was held at the Everest Hotel in Kathmandu on the evening of Sunday 22nd July and was broadcast live on Nepal TV. It was almost like a mini Oscar awards ceremony! Eight different people received an award to recognize their contribution to specific areas of health in Nepal. On another note, here are s...

Dr Jessica in Nepal: Duttali
http://drjessicainnepal.blogspot.com/2012/08/duttali.html
Dr Jessica in Nepal. General Surgeon serving at Tansen Mission Hospital, Nepal. Saturday, August 4, 2012. I told her father that there wasn't anything we could do for the bulge in her back, but that her wounds were in rough shape, and she probably needed an amputation of that foot/lower leg. Since Duttali doesn't really walk (she crawls a little bit at home, apparently), an amputation wouldn't really be debilitating for her, and so he agreed to go ahead with it. The Barriers at Mbingo Baptist Hospital: Changes
http://thebarriersincameroon.blogspot.com/2014/02/changes.html
The Barriers at Mbingo Baptist Hospital. Cameroon, West Africa. Saturday, February 8, 2014. This is JR and Lindsay with their daughter Cathen. The hospital gave them these new outfits and they wore them on their last day of work. They are characteristic of the traditional dress clothes of the NW region of Cameroon. They are quite intricate and difficult to make. After they wore them, they were told - "now you look African". Each January there is a missionary conference in Bamenda for all of the missionar...

The Barriers at Mbingo Baptist Hospital: December 2013
http://thebarriersincameroon.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
The Barriers at Mbingo Baptist Hospital. Cameroon, West Africa. Tuesday, December 10, 2013. This picture is from 1957. There was one building for the hospital and a few houses for the staff. There were also some houses for the long-term care of leprosy patients. But mostly there was a lot of open land. We recently heard about this thing called "Dinovember". Basically, each night of this month Isaac's plastic dinosaurs do some activity and he sees it in the morning. This picture shows them reading...Ben i...

The Barriers at Mbingo Baptist Hospital: March 2014
http://thebarriersincameroon.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
The Barriers at Mbingo Baptist Hospital. Cameroon, West Africa. Sunday, March 2, 2014. It is easy to feel disconnected living so far away from family and friends. We are thankful for the friends we have here, but we are also thankful for the way the internet allows us to stay connected to our family and friends in the US. That being said, we often have problems with our internet here at Mbingo, but we have recently had some help to improve things. It was an incredible trip. Chuck's father, Charlie, is a ...

The Barriers at Mbingo Baptist Hospital: April 2014
http://thebarriersincameroon.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
The Barriers at Mbingo Baptist Hospital. Cameroon, West Africa. Wednesday, April 30, 2014. It is hard to believe that we have been at Mbingo for over 2 years and we are getting ready to move back to the United States. As we mentioned before, we are moving to Charlotte, NC. Mbingo has become our home over these 2 years and it will be tough to leave. However, Cameroonians do know how to do a proper goodbye with multiple parties and multiple outfits. It is also amazing to see how much Isaac has grown at Mbi...
