Title Pending: Finishing The Leaves
http://skylerreep.blogspot.com/2011/11/finishing-leaves.html
Wednesday, November 16, 2011. This book was so unsettling, so tangled, and so unnervingly powerful - that it took me seven months to work through it. Admittedly for most of the first four months, House. Remained tightly closed with other, happier books piled on top of it. My lonely bookmark remained tentatively tucked into the start of the second chapter. On a bright spring afternoon, I read the unique introduction - already slightly unsettled by the lonely warning on an otherwise blank page:. Whose inte...

Title Pending: Reject Standard Notions
http://skylerreep.blogspot.com/2008/06/reject-standard-notions.html
Sunday, June 1, 2008. It's the first day of June, and (to me) that means it's summer. I say it's only summer to me, because everybody on the northern hemisphere knows that summer doesn't start until June 21st, the solstice. I have always had a problem with this notion. To me, it's like saying it's not really daytime until noon! If June 21st is the longest day of the year, then shouldn't the first. I challenge you to keep your eye out for assumptions posing as inalienable truths. Or "I can't believe they ...

Title Pending: Transformation for the New Year
http://skylerreep.blogspot.com/2010/12/transformation-new-year.html
Friday, December 31, 2010. Transformation for the New Year. In the first half of this year, I shifted into overdrive. I was eating a clean, vegetarian diet and lifting heavy. I put on over 20 pounds and added 3 inches to my chest, 2 inches to my hips, and an inch to my upper-arms. For my new year's resolution, I am ending 3 years as a vegetarian and moving toward an ethical pescatarian diet (i.e. eating only sustainable seafood. Friday, December 31, 2010. Title Pending: A Warrior Workout
http://skylerreep.blogspot.com/2010/01/warrior-workout.html
Sunday, January 31, 2010. I have just completed Steve Speirs' 100 Push-up. Programs, but I was frustrated to find that my maxes on these exercises are not yet where the programs promised. I began on Week Three, because of how I did on my initial tests. I did the push-up and sit-up workouts concurrently, and took virtually no days of rest; so perhaps I just overtrained and will do better on subsequent attempts. Have boosted my scores on the relevant metrics. 101 sit-ups with no rest. 15-mile run in 8:55.

Title Pending: Buy Domains
http://skylerreep.blogspot.com/2008/03/buy-domains.html
Thursday, March 6, 2008. Specifically, buy dot-coms. I can think of no cheaper, more easily accessible asset for the small-time investor/entrepreneur to gather up. Buying domains is cheap, easy, and it makes sense. What's so great about domains? Finite. There is only one. Example].com. Whomever owns it owns it and can command any price for its trade. Tangible. Once a domain is registered, its owner is recorded and ownership cannot be usurped without legal cause. How do I pick a good domain? Thank you for...

Title Pending: Mission Statement
http://skylerreep.blogspot.com/2008/02/mission-statement.html
Friday, February 1, 2008. Are you fed up with the rat race? Are you tired of putting your dreams on hold and working for someone else? Do you resent your job? Do you have trouble with money? You only have one life to live, so why are you stuck doing things about which you aren't even passionate. I used to feel this way. I used to wonder why on earth I had to spend the best years of my life working on someone else's goals. That's what we're told to do right? Well, very recently I snapped out of it! Luck-S...

Title Pending: SEALs and SWCC Operators Do Not Disappoint in "Valor"

Sunday, March 4, 2012. SEALs and SWCC Operators Do Not Disappoint in "Valor". If any of you have enjoyed Seal Team 6 Workout. Or my other posts about the strongest men on the planet, then I really think you should get out to see " Act of Valor. I see a lot of films, and I don't take the time to review most of them. I've been pumped about this one since I saw a teaser online last summer, specifically the outrageous moment when an underwater operator muffles the splash of a sniped sentry. Evil, as to be so...
