Mum Down South: November 2014
http://mumdownsouth.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 11 November 2014. Go self-catering as close to home as possible. We used to love long-haul holidays – before kids that is. Now our idea of a perfect getaway is somewhere close by (three hour maximum car journey), that has a play area, its own kitchen and a living room we can relax in once the children have gone to bed. Holiday cottages – fantastic. Center Parcs – even better. We also visited Paultons Park which was just a 40-minute drive away. Tuesday, November 11, 2014. View my complete profile.

Mum Down South: April 2013
http://mumdownsouth.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Monday, 15 April 2013. Can I have a wonderful birth too? A few months ago I was at a party and one of the other mums there was telling me how wonderful the birth of her baby daughter had been. Yeah right, I had thought. Thinking back to my experience, I found it hard to imagine how anyone could find giving birth wonderful. Life changing yes. Momentous. Totally worth it. But wonderful? Monday, April 15, 2013. Tuesday, 9 April 2013. My pre-baby to-do list. Or can I pop him in the stroller as usual and carr...

Mum Down South: October 2012
http://mumdownsouth.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 30 October 2012. Postman Pat and guns? I don't think so. So I have just written an article for the parenting website Emma's Diary *shameless plug* about the dangers (and positives) of screen watching. By this I mean telly, laptops, games consoles. Research has shown that British children have regular access to an average five screens at home by the age of ten and that. A child born today will have spent a full year watching the box by the time he or she reaches seven. Discussing what age childre...

Annabelle in Istanbul: Routine
http://annabelledoesistanbul.blogspot.com/2012/10/routine.html
Thursday, October 4, 2012. We've been in our new house for a couple of months now and already it feels like home. Summer is over, my brother has started school - which he loves, Autumn is here with brown crisp leaves hanging loosely on the trees and whopping great conkers which keep falling out of the sky and landing on cars, even my pram hood! Playing in the Garden after School. It takes time to find that equilibrium of bringing your own culture into a country which has a very different (yet wonderful) ...

Mum Down South: May 2013
http://mumdownsouth.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 14 May 2013. Our ban on screen time. So we decided to go cold turkey. I might add the little man's daddy managed rather skillfully to time the launch of this screen-ban with a "very important meeting" taking him away from home and leaving me to face what seemed like a daunting uphill battle. But his job is with numbers and mine is looking after our telly addict so it was only right really that I face the challenge. Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Tuesday, 7 May 2013. Tuesday, May 07, 2013. Mum Down South: June 2013
http://mumdownsouth.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 25 June 2013. Watch out - health visitor about. Ever since I have been shrouded in the blues that I just can't shrug off. Instead of looking forward to the arrival of our second child, I am now dreading it. If the little man, who is extremely lively, starts playing up, I am plunged into feelings of inadequacy. How will I cope with two if I can't even control one? No, not this time. I know better. Pass me the phone. Tuesday, June 25, 2013. Tuesday, 11 June 2013. Warning - baby on the way. We plan...

Mum Down South: Warning - baby on the way
http://mumdownsouth.blogspot.com/2013/06/warning-baby-on-way.html
Tuesday, 11 June 2013. Warning - baby on the way. We plan to show him his baby photos and talk about the new arrival in that context, and I am going to do a search on Amazon as I know there are plenty of books out there that can help introduce what it is that is about to hit him. Tuesday, June 11, 2013. 11 June 2013 at 09:28. Is this what it all entails, now-a-days.To have a baby.HeHe! When my Mum had me.She just went out in a field! And, that was that! Tuesday, 29 January 2013. My new best friend - jeggings. On Saturday, as excitedly anticipated in my last posting, I hit the shops. Childless, with credit cards burning holes in our pockets, my fellow mummy friend and I did our best to boost the economy, and our wardobes. Here is the pair I got:. Pull on denim jeggings from M&S, priced £19.50. Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Tuesday, 22 January 2013. Some me time at the shops. My love of shopping has not dwindled over the years since then, although becoming a...
