Peter Fraser: COM123 ASSESSMENT 3
http://peterfraser.blogspot.com/2010/06/com123-assessment-3.html
Sunday, June 6, 2010. The camera techniques used in the film give us a sense of Teddy's emotions. The movie opens with Teddy and his partner 'Chuck' coming toward us through the morning fog on a boat, and the lifting fog reveals Shutter Island to them and to us, the audience. Apon debarkation, they are led toward the main gates by the main prison officer. The complex's main structure and walls are all shot low to indicate a position of power, confinement, and also concealment. There is a definite intensi...

Peter Fraser: FTP
http://peterfraser.blogspot.com/2010/05/ftp.html
Monday, May 31, 2010. FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is osed to send information from one computer to another. In the case of the internet, a file is sent from a user's computer to a server. The server then responds to the data it receives. FTP uses 2 ports; 1 for administration (passwords etc) that stays open during the whole transmission, and 1 for data that opens and closes as needed. This is called 'out of band'. Labels: file transfer protocol. Posted by Peter Fraser @ 7:18 AM. View my complete profile.

Peter Fraser: Final Summary
http://peterfraser.blogspot.com/2010/06/final-summary.html
Wednesday, June 2, 2010. What I have learned so far. In week 2 we learned about Google Applications. Since then I have been using a few of these on a regular basis. I already had a Gmail account which I regularly use simply because it is a straight forward application. I also use Calendar, Reader and Translate. We also learned about how google uses hypertext reference and SRC links to navigate through the web. Week 8 we discovered File transfer protocol (FTP). This is a method of transferring informa...

Peter Fraser: Iweb vs HTML
http://peterfraser.blogspot.com/2010/05/iweb-vs-html.html
Monday, May 31, 2010. Our last assessment for this class was an Iweb website. Iweb is okay if you want to build a site that doesn't require any specific styling. You are very limited to the way you can make your page look and operate, especially if you are publishing to an FTP and not mobileme. There are certain tricks that you can use to get around most things, but Iweb won't tell you about them. The RSS feeds and podcast subscriptions are cool though. Most of the images are my wife's photography. S...

Peter Fraser: CSS
http://peterfraser.blogspot.com/2010/05/css.html
Saturday, May 1, 2010. Using templates in Blogger, you can change many things; fonts, colours, column size, how many columns. What you cannot change using templates is the colour and style of links and how they will execute when clicked on eg. open in same/new window. You also can't insert your own background image, or tweak your columns, fonts, fontsize etc to your own needs or desires. Posted by Peter Fraser @ 5:32 PM. Subscribe to Post Comments [ Atom. Peter Fraser: Flickr and Delicious
http://peterfraser.blogspot.com/2010/03/flickr-and-delicious.html
Thursday, March 25, 2010. This week we have created a Flickr. I always knew that Flickr would be useful, because my lovely wife does photography at CSU. Her lecturers have always harped on her to put her work up on Flickr. Now that I have an account. Damian was right, at least in my case, that we wouldn't understand the significance of using Delicious. Yet The only foresight that I have is that we will need to store alot of bookmarks in the future, and for that delicious will be perfect. My account.
