Day 1 | Giving Manchester's homeless a helping And
https://adrianbentley.wordpress.com/2008/12/15/day-one
Giving Manchester’s homeless a helping And. My week as a Mustard Tree volunteer. Here’s an idea…. Cold turkey →. December 15, 2008. 8211; I arrived at The Mustard Tree to find the team sat around the office table in quite prayer. A quiet reverence and gentle stillness filled the room. I must remember to switch it to ‘Prayer Mode’ next time. I’ve also been helping to lug dozens of divan bases (very kindly donated by Bensons for Beds) around the warehouse – trying to match up rogue halves. ...Firstly, ther...

Giving Manchester’s homeless a helping And. My week as a Mustard Tree volunteer. You learn something new every day…. Day 4: White Van Man →. Day 3: Rolling my sleeve up. December 18, 2008. Today I gave blood, sweat and tears… but not necessarily in that order! Helping out here’s such an emotional roller coaster – the highs and lows that I’m constantly seeing are having a profound effect on me. 8217; Trouble is, I guess he’s sort of right. Excuse – client meetings usually do the trick! Well done you thoug...

Giving Manchester’s homeless a helping And. My week as a Mustard Tree volunteer. Day 2: The problem with piles…. Day 3: Rolling my sleeve up →. You learn something new every day…. December 17, 2008. I spent a good couple of hours chin-wagging (and thankfully drinking coffee) with Brian – a top bloke who’s recently got his own place. He’s in the process of furnishing it with Mustard Tree’s help, but he’s spent the last 5 years on the streets of Manchester. Brian, I mean… not me! Adrian, f* * *g good on yo...

Giving Manchester’s homeless a helping And. My week as a Mustard Tree volunteer. Day 1 →. Here’s an idea…. December 15, 2008. Wear gloves tomorrow. It’s freezing in the warehouse. Although, to be fair… I should’ve been ready for that one! Anyway… back to work! This entry was posted in Uncategorized. Day 1 →. One response to “ Here’s an idea…. December 15, 2008 at 2:05 pm. Imagine how cold the streets must be at night! Thanks for all your help Adrian, and to the And Partners crew for lending you out.

Me with John and Marie. Me dishing out the grub. I arrived home last night both physically and emotionally drained, so decided to leave updating my blog until this morning. Giving Manchester’s homeless a helping And. My week as a Mustard Tree volunteer. Day 2: The problem with piles… →. December 15, 2008. Talk about a shock to the system. I’ve gone straight from my usual 5 or 6 coffees a day at work to just the one! And it’s not as if the Mustard Tree kitchen is short on the stuff (I could’ve downed a dozen or more if I’d really wanted) – there just simply isn’t the time. Nor, to be fair, is anyone doing the hourly office brew run! This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

Giving Manchester’s homeless a helping And. My week as a Mustard Tree volunteer. You learn something new every day… →. Day 2: The problem with piles…. December 16, 2008. The problem with piles is that if you don’t sort them out, they just keep getting bigger… and I should know! My first job for today was to sort this little lot out (not alone I should add) -the warehouse is so cold I can’t begin to imagine what it’s like living on the streets at night, or the day for that matter. Keep up the good work pal.

Giving Manchester’s homeless a helping And. My week as a Mustard Tree volunteer. Day 3: Rolling my sleeve up. Day 5: The Friday Night (Soup Kitchen) Project →. Day 4: White Van Man. December 18, 2008. I’ve spent the full day out and about in the Mustard Tree van – picking up and dropping off furniture and clothes parcels around Manchester. But when you’re driving a white van on behalf of a Christian-based homeless charity… there’s not a great deal of scope for road rage! But there is room for optimism, f...
