Philadelphia Catholic Outsider: February 2012
http://philadelphiacatholicoutsider.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 28, 2012. As everybody knows, St. John Neumann founded our Catholic school system. What's often forgotten is that the first thing he had to do was face the trustee crisis. Only after he established the principle that he had control of the diocese, and not lay parish councils, could he go ahead with building schools. Maybe his successor will take control from the planners, end the school closings, and open some schools. Labels: Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Saturday, February 25, 2012.

I’m going to take this question to mean "What should the archbishop do right now? That inv...

Philadelphia Catholic Outsider: St. John Neumann on Who's in Charge of Parishes
http://philadelphiacatholicoutsider.blogspot.com/2013/07/st-john-neumann-again.html
Sunday, July 14, 2013. St John Neumann on Who's in Charge of Parishes. Some people express surprise that the bishop is in charge of the diocese and the parishes, and that "in charge" means "actually in charge." That's just true, though, and it'll be true till the end of time. I don't blame people for not knowing. I blame the people who decided that religious education classes must exclude a great deal of the Catholic Faith. Liberals don't want us to know these truths, so they are buried or ignored in rel...
