Been getting around to a lot of Cronenberg this month, as I haven't seen a lot of his work. Rabid is his second non-student film, and the DVD copy I rented from Vulcan Video had a nice interview with him on it. Why doesn't every horror movie have an insane Richard Moll character? I can't think of one movie that wouldn't be better off with him being insane in it. House is one of those comedy-horror hybrids. Monday, July 23, 2012. I just returned from seeing Possession at my movie theater. It's an incredibly intense (and angry) movie that I've described as Cassevetes meets Lynch and a hyper-melodrama with supernatural elements as well as comparing it to Cronenberg's The Brood (for the anger) and Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut (for the dream/nightmare-like atmosphere)*. My wandering days are not over. Last summer in Edinburgh. Probably my favourite view of the New Town. From Calton Hill. Gramophone Emporium in Stockbridge. I used to work here. I miss it. A lot.
