On the road to somewhere. In which a plant ecologist explores botany, fiber arts, and other interesting roadside attractions. Monday, May 5, 2008. All we lost was sleep. On the road to somewhere: Happy Summer Solstice

http://plantecologist.blogspot.com/2010/06/happy-summer-solstice.html

On the road to somewhere. In which a plant ecologist explores botany, fiber arts, and other interesting roadside attractions. Monday, June 21, 2010. This time of years seems more appropriate for new beginnings than Jan 1., at least to me. So - I am beginning again. Don't know where this will lead this time. No big plans - just want to document the adventures, big and small, and my thoughts at this time in my life. I expect there will be pictures of plants. Of knitting. Of spinning. Fractal Metamorphosis: Pleasant surprises

http://fractalmetamorphosis.blogspot.com/2010/04/pleasant-surprises.html

Gardens and therapy, psychology, fiction. On the Road to Somewhere. Wednesday, April 21, 2010. But last fall after most of the plants were dormant, I put a thick layer of leaf mold and compost over the area, and by now it has mostly been broken down and worm-eaten into the soil. The plants that are left appreciate it, and for the first time since it was put there in 2008, the dwarf crested iris ( Iris cristata. Has a flower bud - I'm finally going to see what it looks like in bloom.

Although I'm not writing much, I've been reading. Mostly on the train to/from work. Since Annika was born:. Tangled Webs (Anne Bishop).

Gardens and therapy, psychology, fiction. On the Road to Somewhere. Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Don't get too excited; this whole posting of photos thing is not going to happen often. With that disclaimer, I know I've been all about the garden lately, but for those of you who like toddlers more than plants, I'll start with a few photos of Annika, taken by her grandpa Khavin:.
