Playing Across The Line: Test cricket is alive
http://playingacrosstheline.blogspot.com/2008/12/test-cricket-is-alive.html
Playing Across The Line. A different spin on the beautiful game. Sunday, 14 December 2008. Test cricket is alive. Having been trapped in Bedford for the past four weeks in rubbish hospital accomodation without a TV anywhere or internet in my room I haven't seen any cricket for a while. I get to come home at weekends and have spent today watching one of the best days of test cricket I've seen in a long while. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Equator" - a cricket webring. Playing Across The Line. A different spin on the beautiful game. Thursday, 26 March 2009. The return of me. If any one is still reading then good news. I'm back. To stay hopefully. I had one of those months except in this case it was three in a row. Apparently med school is quite hard work. I'm hoping that once exams are over next week I'll be back to posting regularly. But for now a quick summary of what's been happening:. Graeme Smith broke his hand again! For JRod's take on Jesse Ryder). 22 years old ...

Playing Across The Line. A different spin on the beautiful game. Thursday, 27 November 2008. The situation in Mumbai at the moment is truly awful. The suffering family and friends of the injured and murdered must be going through is too extreme to imagine. My condolences to any readers who have lost someone or know someone in hospital and I hope all the Indian bloggers out there are safe. Mumbai has experienced too many of these attacks for me to count and the city always rises up stronger, more united a...

Playing Across The Line. A different spin on the beautiful game. Sunday, 31 August 2008. Hints for Stanford series? England fans got an early look at the possible tactics of our Twenty-20 batsmen in the Stanford trophy later this year, as the one-day game against South Africa was shortened due to rain and became a 20 over run chase. While the openers appeared to get a little carried away with the idea of scoring boundaries and managed to get themselves out, Owais. Shah, Kevin Pietersen. Are going to beco...

The non-expert expert's guide to the greatest game of all. It's a cricket blog for the uninitiated. Saturday, 12 January 2013. India v England ODI. Samit Patel seems to NWG an underrated England player. Always on the fringe. First to be dropped. Angers the naughty Stuart Broad if he dare drop a catch. But yesterday he showed that he should be considered. 44 off 20 in a finish with Kieswetter impressed NWG, not least because she loves a late flourish. Wednesday, 9 January 2013. And then KP came along.

NWG is concerned for his gender. It seems a couple of months with Liz Hurley and a few botox injections changes a man.and not for the good. Not smooth and wrinkle-free. Labels: liz hurley is a bad influence. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Nightwatchgirl is in her test whites. NWG is doubtful. The Big Bash ther...
The Popping Crease: Fact: Test is Best
http://popping-crease.blogspot.com/2008/09/fact-test-is-best.html
A blog from the perspective of an avid England fan with the view that Test is best. Wednesday, September 10, 2008. Fact: Test is Best. Test cricket IS cricket. The picture shows cricket the way it's meant to be played. With the Stanford Twenty20 coming up and more ODI matches being played One day cricket appears to be taking over the cricket world, and the England team. The IPL was the second step (after Twenty20) towards a cricket world dominated by the shorter form of the game. Long live the Test match!
The Popping Crease: No 5-0 Whitewash for England!
http://popping-crease.blogspot.com/2008/09/no-5-0-whitewash-for-england.html
A blog from the perspective of an avid England fan with the view that Test is best. Thursday, September 04, 2008. No 5-0 Whitewash for England! Not great news but we'll take the 4-0 victory that we were able to achieve. Yesterday England were only able to bowl three overs of the 5th and final ODI of the English Summer. England therefore take the series victory but remain below South Africa in the ICC rankings. If they had won 5-0 they would have over-taken the South Africans. View my complete profile.

A blog from the perspective of an avid England fan with the view that Test is best. Sunday, August 31, 2008. England ODI Victory, 4-0! Today saw England face South Africa at Lord's in the fourth ODI. It is pretty much a dead series in that England have won and South Africa seem to appear to have given up. The match was greatly interrupted by rain and sadly i could only see a few overs of it as i was playing today myself (scoring a half century so perhaps not so bad! Fingers crossed for a Cardiff victory!
The Popping Crease: Farewell Hick!
http://popping-crease.blogspot.com/2008/09/farewell-hick.html
A blog from the perspective of an avid England fan with the view that Test is best. Tuesday, September 02, 2008. Today Graeme Hick has announced his retirement from County Cricket as of the end of this season. At the ripe old age of 42 (and 102 days) Hick has played his fair share of cricket and is a name that will be remembered for years as one of the great run scorers in First Class and One Day cricket. Worcestershire was his true home and they will sorely miss such a cricketing great. I salute you...
The Nightwatchgirl™: What Shane Really Means is.....

The non-expert expert's guide to the greatest game of all. It's a cricket blog for the uninitiated. Thursday, 2 May 2013. What Shane Really Means is. Shane Warne, most helpfully, has written an article for The Telegraph detailing how brilliant the Australian selectors have been in their choices for the Ashes 2013. You will notice that in bolded brackets, NWG has added in her own two cents. And these are probably not worth their weight in gold, but still, they might be revealing what's really going on.

The non-expert expert's guide to the greatest game of all. It's a cricket blog for the uninitiated. Monday, 6 June 2011. He's a wild one. He knows no limits. He has tattoos. He has a ring that he won't take off. He's had blue hair. He's had red hair. But can he bat? NWG knows she can't be too harsh on him. After all, now she's a Duchess, she has to be kind and smile a lot (it hurts her cheeks). But really he hasn't scored any runs. And really, what's the point of KP without the runs? Or the badger look.

Playing Across The Line
Playing Across The Line. A different spin on the beautiful game. Sunday, 19 April 2009. I know this is a bit late but I thought I'd add my thoughts on Andy Flower's appointment as England coach. It initially appeared to be a somewhat last-ditch appointment as everyone else interviewed/head-hunted/casually chatted to/begged to apply said no. Here's hoping the press and the fans give Flower enough time and space to work and we'll see what happens. Thursday, 26 March 2009. The return of me. England are stil...

A blog about play, playwork, and the universe. Playing the Geographical Conference. I’ve just returned from presenting a paper (and listening to others) at the Royal Geographical Society/Institute of British Geographer’s Annual International Conference 2016 [1]. About 2000 geographers gathered in London to spend four days of talking, debating, listening and eating and drinking about pretty well everything to do with geography, and this covers pretty well anything!
