A Hand Along the Journey: Poems for the King from One Pilgrim to Another

A Hand Along the Journey: Poems for the King from One Pilgrim to Another. Saturday, December 24, 2016. Why "Silent Night" Wasn't Silent. This is a poetry blog, but today's thoughts are in prose. Can you imagine how long of a poem it would have been to convey everything? Yesterday at 1:11pm my husband and I headed to the children’s hospital with our 19 month old daughter. We didn’t walk out of that building until 8:00, and the intervening hours were not dull, to say the least…. 8221; Point taken. May I tr...

A Hand Along the Journey: Poems for the King from One Pilgrim to Another: March 2016

http://poemsfortheking.blogspot.com/2016_03_01_archive.html

A Hand Along the Journey: Poems for the King from One Pilgrim to Another. Friday, March 25, 2016. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts,. To give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. The earth was dark, and then God spoke;. Created light, and darkness broke. Away, for it could not abide. When God decreed that day would be. But Adam sinned one perfect day,. And from God’s light he turned away. When Jesus hung upon a tree,.

A Hand Along the Journey: Poems for the King from One Pilgrim to Another. Wednesday, June 1, 2016. For Your pleasure they [all things] are and were created.". One day I planted tiny seeds,. And dreamed of fragrant flowers fair. That soon would grow and bud and bloom,. And grace the air with their perfume. The dirt was rich and watered right;. The spot would get good bright sunlight. Well-cut stones enclosed the plot;. Lankets of mulch finished the spot. With dusty hands I strode away. I’ll let the ...

A Hand Along the Journey: Poems for the King from One Pilgrim to Another. Saturday, November 26, 2016. 8220;He made the stars also…” (Gen. 1:16). Every now and then at close of day. I step outside for a change of pace,. To feel the night’s cool breeze and see. The starry sky looking down at me. The coolness of night with its gift of repose. Mirrors serenity nothing else knows,. Except for the fellowship that we share:. My Lord and I, He’s beyond compare. Pin pricks of starlight so far away.

A Hand Along the Journey: Poems for the King from One Pilgrim to Another. Saturday, November 28, 2015. Psalm 119:97,130 – “O how I love Thy law! It is my meditation all the day. The entrance of Thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding to the simple.”. My Bible is God’s gift to me,. Revealing Him in great glory:. Comforter, King, Redeemer, Friend. Whose love for me will never end. So I will seek to know Him more,. And, through the Scripture, Christ adore,. As day by day He transforms me. Ow and alw...

Thursday, August 6, 2015. It was getting late. It is hard to know exactly what time, but the time was late enough that the people would not have been able to get home without risking having to walk in the night. Tuesday, June 30, 2015. We're not exactly sure what language Jesus spoke regularly. However there is great likelihood that this Aramaic, or Syriac, that he uses to speak to the little girl here was his chosen tongue. In any case, many in that region would have spoken Greek. So Jesus would have spoken Aramaic and Greek. 1 John 5:19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I pray and praise you, Amen. Devotional Commentary: Mark 6:30

http://www.lognewant.com/2015/08/mark-630.html

Saturday, August 1, 2015. It is very important for Christian ministers to consider the fact that teaching should always accompany our ministry activity. Many times we have ministers who are very busy in ministry, but they never actually pointedly teach anything. James 2:3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:. And, we know that you will do well with us. Thank you!

http://www.lognewant.com/2015/08/mark-631.html

Sunday, August 2, 2015. Scoffers might say that Jesus obviously did not know that the crowd would follow him, and that his followers would have no good chance to rest. Ah, but what did it teach his followers, to say that they needed to rest? Do we fail to remember that God rested on the seventh day after his work of creation? Jesus knew they wouldn't get to rest that day, but he was teaching. James 2:4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts? Receive Posts by Email.

Devotional Commentary: Mark 6:38

http://www.lognewant.com/2015/08/mark-638.html

Sunday, August 9, 2015. This miracle is often misunderstood because Jesus used existing food and multiplied it. Could he have made bread out of thin air? Certainly. But, he didn't do it that way. There was a lesson in the method. Indeed, with Jesus there is always a lesson somewhere. He doesn't do miracles just to do miracles. He knew what he was going to do. He knew that he was going to make more than enough bread for all. But, he asks about what they have anyway. He wants to multiply it.
