The Finished Poem | The Tip of the Tower

October 9, 2014. And at long last, the main poem is compete and has been cast in concrete …. Here it is …. Take a turn about the tower. Follow in the bootsteps of the soldiers who came here. To guard the sea, to keep the coast clear. Through summer’s heat and winter’s gales. Soldiers, staunch as brick-built walls,. Watched the horizon, watched out for sails. A circle protects what’s yours to defend:. To walk this path is to stand your ground. Follow the soldiers, follow them round. Enter your comment here.

During the summer, poet Julia Bird will be working with Tower staff, Jaywick residents and visitors to create a poem to be installed at the Tower. The Jaywick Martello Project is an exciting programme developed by Place Services at Essex County Council, Jaywick Martello Tower and the Friends of the Tower. The programme will see the recent improvements around the base of the tower further enhanced through the incorporation of interpretive text created with the community of Jaywick. Poet in the pub
Poet in the pub. Ramblings of the mind and soul. Sorrow is a mist that clings. Sorrow is a mist that clings. Sadness is a cloud that haunts. Loneliness is moving in fog. Depression is the land of no sun. This post has no tag. It’s Saturday night fun. Rolling in the street. It’s only just begun. No worries No cares. When another day dawns. I’m sure there’s something to remember. Can’t recall what. A few pints more and it will all come back. A fool for the night no harm done. More tomorrow whoever they are.

The Poet in the Rye's Blog. Poetic Iterations from behind the veil. Posted in Uncategorized on November 25, 2015 by thepoetintherye. When a Poet is heartbroken he counts his tears in tributes. A tribute for the way your eyes change color just before they tear. One for the floppy hand, one for the arched foot. A tribute for each outfit of the day missed. A tribute for your socks that make me fly. For the curve at your ribcage. A tribute for squeezing you as tight as possible to bring you inside. The condu...

Poet in the Woods
Poet in the Woods. Saturday, 15 August 2015. On the Eve before Assumption Day. An event kept as a holiday. Though poised for action, all is still. This August lull means time to kill. What shall I do? And autumn fashions on display. I walk around in dusty heat. Feeling abandoned in my street. The odd cloud forms and shadows fall. Like speckles on a nearby wall. Just one lone cyclist peddles past. Enjoying a stillness that won’t last. The traffic’s just a background hum. C) Poet in the woods 2015. Roamed ...

Caitlin Lastine | You have the write to free your mind.
You have the write to free your mind. A crashed car took everything. The man I loved was torn apart. By metal, squealing metal,. And the careless driver that swerved…. Ripped my soul from my body. With too many drinks. And a curvy road. My tears run cold. With the blood in my veins,. Slipping down my skin slowly. To always let me know. What you have is not always for long. Take love by chance. Be careful but still find romance. In the heart of someone you may love. Posted using Tinydesk Writer. Leaves fa...
