December 24, 2014. December 24, 2014. 8220;Lunar Shatters” by Melissa Broder. I read this poem yesterday and just had to share it with you all, sort of as my Holiday gift to you. Hope you enjoy! I came into the world a young man. Then I broke me off. Still the sea and clouds are Pegasus colors. My heart is Pegasus colors but to get there I must go back. Back to the time before I was a woman. Before I broke me off to make a flattened lap. And placed thereon a young man. Where I myself could have dangled.

Summer is almost here, and instead of applying for a job or internship, I thought I’d try to accomplish a few goals:. 1 Submit at least three poems to literary magazines or contests. Get a tattoo (I’ve been planning this for a while, but now I just need to have the courage to go through with my plan). 3 Learn how to drive on the highway. I have my license, but I’ve never gotten over the fear of driving on the highway. 4 Read a different poem every day and figure out which poets I like. Top Posts and Pages.

November 9, 2014. What are real ramblings? I’m giving myself 10 minutes to write this. No editing, no going back and erasing the part of myself that lay in the black and white symbols. I have a question a dilemma that I’m not sure what to do with. I want to write poetry, and I want to share that poetry with the interwebs. But what is the line between writing poetry for myself and writing poetry for the excitement of the share? When I write for the interwebs and not myself, are my words actually my own?

What inspired and inspires my poetry. On February 8th, 2005, Chinese New Years Eve, I lay down. To sleep. As often was the case, the first line of a poem came to me. I tried to memorize it, in case I really would write it in the morning . . . then told myself to stop kidding myself. I was not going to remember it. This time, however, my voice came to me and said, “No! Not this time. Get out of bed and go write it now.”. And the poems poured out of me like the bursting of a dam! I am ready now.
