http://runningforeighty.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 25, 2013. MARCH 23, MONDAY 2013. 8220;It’s very hard in the beginning to understand that the whole idea is not to beat the other runners. Eventually you learn that the competition is against the little voice inside you that wants you to quit.”. 8211; George Sheehan. Boy this is a true statement. How easy it is to quit! But sometimes the voice is stilled by the first step out the door. I have been running very inconsistently the last month. This is all for this week. Phil's pole vault site.

running for eighty: October 2013
http://runningforeighty.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 15, 2013. October 15 , 2013. Time on my hands or in my pocket or losing the opportunity to be out running. Sounds like a runner who has to take time off from running doesn't it? I am suspect of having a hernia or a pulled muscle in my groin. (Inguinal hernia). So I have been ordered to take it easy until the docs can be certain what the problem is. I have been having some pain in my right groin. I am going to have a C A T scan tomorrow and then I will know what the outcome will be. CHUCK...

running for eighty: April 2014
http://runningforeighty.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 19, 2014. April 19, 2014. If running was easy everyone would be running. Maybe the word running scares people. Some might think of high school cross country or track meets where they had to run all out and had not trained enough for their effort. Their experience was a memory of pain rather than a sense of accomplishment. Maybe they just quit to soon. Or did not realize what running could do for them./. Well back to my running. This is one of the tulip fields in Mt. Vernon, Wa. My next ra...

running for eighty: June 2013
http://runningforeighty.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 14, 2013. June 14, 2013. Wow, time for another post. I have been doing more in my garden then running. Although I did run a marathon on June 2, 2013. I have been trying to keep my marathon time under 6 hours. I know all of you fast er guys out there, this time is slow. But for being 80 years old I don't think it is too bad. Seven seconds. My goodness it seems like I could have made up that 7 or 8 seconds and came in under 5 hours. Oh well next time! This year I am in the 80 to 84 age division.

running for eighty: Recovering from my Henria Surgery
http://runningforeighty.blogspot.com/2014/03/march-2-2014-running-for-80-and-beyond.html
Sunday, March 2, 2014. Recovering from my Henria Surgery. March 2, 2014 Running for 80 and beyond! I don't run because I have to. I do not run because I must. I do not run for other people. I run because I can! I run for the sheer enjoyment of being able to run. And I thank God every day for my health and that I can still run :) . But when the wind starts to blow out come the warm clothes. I have been walking for two miles on the beach which is just across the road from our house. I take our two Pome...
