Just another ART 160 WordPress.com site. Peer Visual Thinking Blogs. Newer posts →. April 25, 2011. There’s a darkness upon me that’s flooded in light. In the fine print they tell me what’s wrong and what’s right. And it comes in black and it comes in white. And I’m frightened by those that don’t see it. When nothing is owed or deserved or expected. And your life doesn’t change by the man that’s elected. If you’re loved by someone, you’re never rejected. Decide what to be and go be it. April 25, 2011.

4/13/11 – Sayoah’s New Family. 5/1/11 – 5/6/11 End of Self Portrait Journey →. 4/18/11- 4/27/11 : Self Portrait. May 1, 2011. We came to class and set up for our Self Portrait project. We’re going to be using charcoal dust and cover our entire paper using tissue paper as a medium to put it on the canvas. The way we actually “draw” is by erasing! By today we were suppose to have our entire canvas covered with the charcoal dust and ideally have it as close to black as we can. Pheobe. After the break I real...

Even more portrait! | thewritermustpaint
https://thewritermustpaint.wordpress.com/2011/05/03/even-more-portrait
Just another WordPress.com site. As agonizing as I had anticipated. It was seriously the nicest surprise I have had in a long time:. Surprisingly eye-like, no? And then, in all honesty, I spent a good chunk of time staring at and remeasuring that blank space. It just looked so impossibly large, like I would end up with one normal-sized eye and then this one would be the size of a boat. Once I’d stressed myself out enough over that, I took the plunge and reshaded:. And then I did the eye itself:. Can̵...

Learning to think visually as opposed to quantitatively. Following my progress in introductory art class. Updates on various things. Reflections on an art exhibit →. April 14, 2011. A jelly in a little pond. A very brave girl was picking them up and putting them in a little zoo she made. Now, I was very silly and forgot to take pictures of my creations. But they are coming shortly, probably later today. So, in the end I got two animals: the Transient Air Jelly, and the Cuddle Jelly. Elle: I’m parti...

Sarah Kay.'s Blog. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Setting up the Student Exhibit. April 21, 2011. 1 hr/ Day 1. I spent making chalk dust a prepping my canvas for the self portrait. 245 hrs/ Day 2. I began using the erasing technique on the charcoal paper. This is SOOOO difficult. I try to focus and make it a meditative routine with relaxing slow paced music. I began with the whitest white spot on the tip of my nose and worked out from that with value changes of the shapes of the shadows. 35 hrs/ Day 4.

Food, wine and life. Apr 13, 2018. You know when you open Facebook and those memories pop up? Well, yesterday that happened to me, and my heart skipped a beat. Pure deja vu, and overwhelming sadness. This is what it said…. Mum is of course being looked after beautifully by her (our...
