A few thoughts on adulthood. Author Archives: Suzanne Barker. I am an adult.or so I think I finally am one. I am also a wife, mother, friend, housekeeper, cook, teacher, but most importantly a Christian. Change is hard, but good. January 7, 2012. September 19, 2011. As I spend more time in contemplation, I am reminded of my grandfather. He was quite a character. He taught me many things. He taught me to swim by pushing me off the side of boat and telling me I … Continue reading →. Change is hard, but good.

A few thoughts on adulthood. Monthly Archives: January 2012. Change is hard, but good. January 7, 2012. Change is often hard to accept. I don’t know why; I’ve learned through the years that change usually ends up bringing better. I’ve seen that this year. I spent most of last year afraid for the change that was going … Continue reading →. Change is hard, but good. Create a free website or blog at WordPress.com.

Ponderings of my Heart
Ponderings of my Heart. Friday, 25 October 2013. I have always loved the water, I am a swimmer. Maybe being Australian, living on an island it's in my blood to love the tranquillity and sheer power the ocean possesses. There is nothing like natural water, but I still enjoy to cold and peace I feel in a pool. But swimming in a squad has never diminished my pleasure with water, but sometimes distracted me from it. Wednesday, 22 May 2013. Still a little foolish. As my mind whirled all these thoughts, I soon...

....Ponderings
Thursday, October 27, 2011. When Lydia told me this was a good film my first thought was, "Another horse racing movie? I have watched a few of those: Black Beauty, The Black Stallion, both My Friend Flicka's, National Velvet, The Man From Snowy River, The Horse Whisperer, Hildalgo, Danny, All the Pretty Horses, quite a few Roy Rogers and other old westerns. The main horse in the movie always wins in some way. I thought I'd seen enough. Mr Phipps' best stallion stallion Bold Ruler. But this movie is about...

Ponderings of a Med Student
Ponderings of a Med Student. My thoughts on life, travel, books, movies, oh, and medical school. It has been a while since my last post. The thoughts are just a jumbled mess. I have been on vaction since last Sunday, lounging at the beach and touring the historic districts of Charleston and Savannah. Tomorrow, I return home, and I hope I will be able to write something worth reading. Until then, may I recommend. Series books available in the store, while I have to order a copy of An Area of Darkness.

Ponderings of a Mind
Ponderings of a Mind. Saturday, December 6, 2014. Quick Pocket Card Tutorial. A quick visual on how I made a super fast pocket card for holding small pictures, lists, and journaling cards using my card stock scraps, washi tape, and a few embellishments. Step 1: Fold your card stock to the size you want. Step 2: Cut another piece of card stock to slide in. (I quickly sketched where I should glue when I slid it in to test how it fit.). Step 3: Flip it over to decorate! Links to this post. The first is a pi...

Ponderings of an American Immigrant
Ponderings of an American Immigrant. Sunday, February 22, 2015. From Pirate to Parent. No one can deny the power of a good book. Every once in a while some of us are lucky enough to come across a book that changes the way we see the world and what we want from the one life we’ve been given on this crazy planet. I became one of the lucky ones when, as an eleven-year-old girl, I came across just such a book. Motherhood was so important. I was reminded that Charlotte Doyle had been able to achieve an ad...

Ponderings of an ER nurse
Ponderings of an ER nurse. The new year is here! I rang in the new year checking in my, what seemed like, 100th ambulance of the night. Not as many drunks as I expected. Lots of car wrecks though. Sad thing is that the sober victim usually gets the bad end of the wreck. Point of all of this? January 2, 2009. Posted by Nurse D. Reply to comments…. Sorry it has taken me so long to reply. It has been a little crazy lately. But I wanted to reply to the comments I have gotten recently. Rob….thanks f...Paul...

Ponderings Of An Insomniac – Oh a bit of this and a bit of that..
Ponderings Of An Insomniac. Oh a bit of this and a bit of that. January 28, 2016. Everytime I start reading a Malayalam book, I start off with a lot of enthusiasm – grand plans on how I’m going to read it, absorb it and talk about it eloquently to anyone who will listen. And almost everytime, I lose interest halfway through. Well, lose interest is too broad a term. What actually happens is I give up on the language. When did I become a grown up? January 26, 2016. I’m an adult now? When did that happen?

Just another WordPress.com site. Remembering our little Eli…. Today is my due date of our 3rd child. On the way to my doctor appointment that morning, I felt prompted to listen to the song Sovereign by Chris Tomlin. The lyrics are:. Sovereign in the mountain air. Sovereign on the ocean floor. With me in the calm. With me in the storm. Sovereign in my greatest joy. Sovereign in my deepest cry. With me in the dark. With me at the dawn. In your everlasting arms. All the pieces of my life. I can trust you.
