Proby. Over at his blog Bobwords. My friend Bob writes about the joys of joining a choir. There is a shortage of men signing up, he says, and tenors are hard to come by. Music and sidetracks of the 50s, 60s and 70s, more or less related, or not, to my Australian song history site "WHERE DID THEY GET THAT SONG? Softly Whispering I Love You": five versions and one that never existed. When I looked into the history of this song I thought I was tracing the original version of a 1972 Australian single by Johnny Farnham and Allison Durbin. That single never existed. It turned out, and the song was never recorded by Farnham and Durbin. One track on the album, Baby Without You.
