Friday, January 2, 2015. Our last dinner of 2014 was delicious, K had the idea to try to replicate a meal we'd had at union kitchen and we did a pretty good job of it - a steak placed on top of a polenta cake and arugula. It was our first time to make polenta and arugula and it all turned out great! We already have ideas on how to improve but not a bad first try! Lessons learned (recipes we used are linked):. Sunday, April 19, 2015. We now have a totally different room downstairs (second bedroom), and it will work much better for us. This room has been usable but not great since we moved, we've just been making use of furniture that we already had. Now its like a whole new room. Nothing like a deadline to get us moving! I mean short literally, as in not tall, since the couch isn't all that long. I suppose a tall person could lay diagonally on it? My mom can tell us how comfortable it is. Looking back at 2015.

Sunday, June 22, 2014. Can I go back on vacation? I know I can't, but last week made me wish I could. We've been busy getting our house ready to go on the market and had a few final projects to tackle - mostly clearing out furniture and rearranging furniture for staging (and lots of cleaning) - to have it ready for pictures for the listing and for the showings we hope will come quickly. We went ahead with furniture moving, but were delayed in finishing up our work. Links to this post. Wow, time flies!

Sunday, November 16, 2014. We attended the Texas Renaissance Festival yesterday, an annual tradition for us. It was a chilly (colder than we were thinking it would be) and fun day. We watch the weather and just go when it looks right, tough for making plans with others but the best way to do it! Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Today was a memorable day for all of Houston due to the flooding, and for my husband and I because he finally heard about the job he'd interviewed for and was waiting on - he got it!
