2 in 9 teapots | potterywoman
https://potterywoman.wordpress.com/2011/01/28/2-in-9-teapots
Just another WordPress.com weblog. Laquo; Bud vases. Growth, one at a time. 2 in 9 teapots. This collection of slip cast teapots were made from a mold and inside two of them are partial tumors. I wanted to illustrate firstly that though we may seem fine from the outside – perfectly functioning and healthy, disease may be found inside that we don’t know about. The tumors inside the two teapots do not impede their function but the are present. They represent the unknown inside of us. How do we find out?

Skin bowls | potterywoman
https://potterywoman.wordpress.com/2011/01/28/skin-bowls
Just another WordPress.com weblog. Laquo; Growth, one at a time. This lovely set of bowls range from 6 inches in diameter to 16.5 inches in diameter and are glazed with a recipe I found called. It literally has an anemic, skin like appearance and texture. Fabulous! These images don’t do it justice but wait for my studio photos – they will show it better). Just another WordPress.com weblog. Laquo; 2 in 9 teapots. Growth, one at a time. The tumors got fired to different temperatures with some slightly different finishes so there was also variation in color and texture. All in all it was a very exciting component to the show and a project in which I want to explore more. This entry was posted on January 28, 2011 at 4:21 am and is filed under Growth. Bio | Alana Wilson
https://alanawilson.wordpress.com/bio
Just another WordPress.com weblog. While completing my BFA at NSCAD, an awareness of what life as an artist could look like was formed, as was a feeling of moving in the right direction. My childhood was spent moving from town to town, and as an adult, I haven’t yet been able to stop this pattern, though there is something about the East coast that continues to draw me back. There’s a simplicity of life and a sense of community in Nova Scotia that I’ve yet to find anywhere else. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
