Friday, January 28, 2011. One in the bathtub. Three sick kids home being sick with their momma. And I'm here, deciding whether or not the 2 loaves of banana bread I'll make will convince me to choose them over the 2 baskets of laundry. Well 3, if you count the one in the basement, full of whites. So anyway world, my mom called yesterday which was rare but yes, welcomed. A whole half-hour of chatting about everything and nothing. Monday, February 7, 2011. Funny thing was, I also noted two pouches of albacore tuna, and one pouch for me of dried cranberries. Tuna just for Dylan.add celery salt, pepper, mayo and mix plenty of dill relish through it. Red grapes, 2 bunches of bananas ( one's for banana bread.hoping for two loaves. And a cantaloupe for Lauren. So I'm all set up to rearrange my freezer, which frightens me as freezer arranging always should. For god's sake I have like 20 fresh made meatballs. Tuesday, June 15, 2010. I'll make up for it. Today's breakfast began last afternoon when I thoughtfully prepared crusty banana bread for my youngers. It is they (the youngest two) who benefit most from rhythm, from routines that convince more delights will follow tomorrow. As I served peanut butter bananas on the side of this morning's breakfast, I patted myself on the back for thinking ahead. A batch of ripening bananas prompted the ingredient-buying trip, no wait, I already had what was missing.

Cooking up a storm lately., last night it was two chicken pot pies with a third one in the freezer. Night before I made Chicken Marengo, which needed nothing to satisfy my husband, well maybe black beans. Found the greatest cookbook. Where I'm gaining my inspiration, it's Fabulous Freezer Meals. That don't actually have to go in the freezer (only if you want to). Plus, winning contests. My son is eleven.

Monday, February 7, 2011. I returned from the grocery store after a well-spent, efficient trip. Got every item on my list and luckily without trying. Began in the music.it's Taylor's birthday, do I get KidzBop 19 or Taylor Swift's old CD Fearless. Kidz Bop, apparently. But it's when I got home that I amazed myself most. I picked up my kids, then admired my purchases, and here's just the breads:. 2 packs hot dog buns (bought those no-nitrate Angus weiners, Oscar Mayer). Like heaven with pesto.

Monday, January 24, 2011. 1 can yellow string beans, drained. 1 can green string beans, drained. 1 can red kidney beans, drained. 1 med onion, diced. 2 med green peppers, diced. 1 can tomato soup. 1/2 c salad oil. 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp white pepper. Sunday, October 10, 2010. Knitting is my calm lately. I just knit a wrongside row, which is the easier shift when the reverse side is filled with knitted cables and surrounding purls. It's a sweater I'm knitting for myself in one piece, sideways. One of those tasks I keep around to occupy myself during my many dread-filled, "what has life become" moments. Will they be prepared to handle it? I mean, there are the moments. When things fall into line and I know the best I can do is celebrate and savor.

Sunday, March 6, 2011. Birthday parties, galore! Threw another one today, this one for my seven year old and all his boy buddies at school. Talk about wild children enclosed in one space, well at least it had crawling tunnels. Still though, could not control their energies or redirect themselves into constructive activities for the life of them. It wasn't even normal. But we survived it and took lots of cute pictures. We have three February's in our family, including my daughter (now 9). My son is eleven.
