After receiving service of this programme, there is great improvement in the delayed areas of my 3 years old daughter like speech, physical condition, and to be afraid to stay alone. Krishna Pd. Ghimire (Father). 1 It is found that number of boys with developmental delay/disabilities is more than the number of girls. 2 High percentage of children with developmental delay/disability is found in rural areas.

Construction of Portage Center of Excellence at Mahendra Jyoti VDC is under process and is aimed to be completed by 2013. This building will have the following features:. Residential and Non-residential training on Portage Early Intervention programme, Disabilities and other related subjects (Basic, Intermediate and Advanced levels) by experienced and qualified trainers.

Total 176 children (102 boys and 74 girls) received regular home visit service. 15 children (8 boys and 7 girls) were rehabilitated or completed portage checklist according to their age. 19 new children (12 boys and 7 girls) were admitted in the service. 16 children (11 boys and 5 girls) left the programme without completing the same.
