Tuesday, May 10, 2011. Jessica's battle with Cystic Fibrosis comes to an end. This latest trip to Duke turned out to be her final one. Jessica went in for a procedure that went well. Then her condition worsened and she was placed in ICU. Jessica fought back and started improving. But success this time slipped away. Early this morning Jessica's battle quietly ended. Sunday, June 27, 2010. Friday, June 11, 2010. Jess had to go to Duke Wednesday for another bronchoscopy. Unfortunately, when she woke up she was admitted to the hospital. She was there to check on the stint placed in her right lung. The doctor told us that Jess' right stint needed to be replaced and her left lung needed to be dilated.
