What I’ve learned from our “trial run”. On: September 14, 2011. After our unexpected overnight stay at the hospital, I have learned a few things for when the big day does really arrive:. Bring a warm sweater. There was only a sheet on the bed, and even though I am usually boiling hot, I did get cold overnight). Bring a change of clothes for hubby. We didn’t think he’d be allowed to stay overnight, so it would be nice for him to have a clean tshirt and underwear at least! Always have the hospital bag ready.
