Wednesday, February 22, 2012. I grew up Baptist. That's all I've ever known. And if someone had ever told me I'd be observing Lent someday I would have laughed. Doesn't everyone know that's a Catholic holiday? Yet I feel drawn to this time of repentance and reflection. What can I sacrifice to grow closer to Christ? Saturday, September 20, 2014. Canning Adventures/Back to School. Many years ago, in high school, I was in our Future Homemakers of America club. In fact, my junior year I was the president. At the time I found that pretty amusing because I was quite sure I'd never actually BE a homemaker. We still have some peaches waiting to be canned, but I've done about 48 quarts of peaches, pears, and spiced pears so far. September 26, 2014 at 9:34 AM. Sunday, June 3, 2012. While it may seem tempting as a homeschool mom schedule nothing during the summer, I can't seem to let it all go. Call me crazy, but letting the kids choose their own activities twelve-plus hours a day has not worked in our favor! They, and I, need some structure.
