My Calcaneal Osteotomy Journey. I am going to document my recovery from a lateral calcaneal osteotomy for a high arched foot. Friday, 23 July 2010. Well my cast is off, and i have just had a bath because my leg and foot was flipping disgusting! Parts of my foot and ankle are totally numb and the other parts are sore right now. Ive been given a boot with and hinge and a rocking sole for support and been told to gradually put more weight on it and stop using the crutches. Ive to go back in 6 weeks.

Today I went back to the hospital and they moved my foot to the right position, so its at 90 degrees to my leg. That hurt. It felt like my incisions were popping. ouch. Ok so it hurt when i woke up from the op and the nerve block hadnt kicked in. It hurt when they took off my temporary cast. It hurt when i fell over. NONE of those things come close to how it hurst when i try to put weight on my foot. my god does it wreck. The top of my foot is discoloured, and theres some bruising on the inside of it. Day 28 and 29.

Well yesterday and today i have been in work for the afternoons only. Its good to be back at work. I hadnt taken any painkillers for about 5 days but last night when i got home i had to. I took some whilst i was at work earlier too. I feel like i have gone back a couple of weeks and i have a really deep bone pain, and a sharp pain by my scar.
