Building a wooden kayak is a lot of fun - but you should be sure that you want to spend time building as well as kayaking! I started with an Arctic Tern kayak kit from Pygmy kayaks. Approximately 10 cubic meters of industrial latex gloves. Carbide and steel scrapers. Lots and lots of sandpaper. 2 4x8 sheets of plywood to manufacture a work table.

Kayaking Across America: November 2010
http://kayakingamerica.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 14, 2010. A very warm (for November) late morning/early afternoon. One very elderly heron, a couple turtles, and lots of leaves in the air and on the water. Looks like migrations are done for the year. Perfect day to kayak (especially for November). Posted by J. Memmott. Very quiet afternoon. No herons, no osprey, no geese, an oriole nest, and one wood duck. As dusk arrived the air got very very cool. Posted by J. Memmott. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Oak Orchard Canoe and Kayak.

Saturday, May 21, 2011. Trying out two new cameras: my Nikon D7000 and Nicki's Nikon D3100 both with zoom lenses that go out to 300mm. Lots of geese, several great blue herons, an egret, a cormorant, ducks and lots of scenery. The temps were comfortable, the winds were light, and it was a great evening. Posted by J. Memmott. Monday, May 09, 2011. A very nice afternoon on the lake. Lots of geese, turtles, and one lone great blue heron in flight. Nicki got the heron photos. Posted by J. Memmott.
