Centennial Quilt - Quesnel & District Museum and Archives

Quesnel and District Museum and Archives. Eldra Robertson's Centennial Quilt. Mrs Eldra A. Roberston of Clinton made this quilt in 1967 for the B.C. Centennial Committee's Quilt Competition. A lifelong seamstress, she worked for 6 months to translate historic photographs into applique and embroidery. The quilt was exhibited at the Pacific National Exhibition and won first prize, which was $500. It was acquired for the Provincial Museum and Archives. Click on any image to load it full screen.

Quesnel and District Museum and Archives. CD Hoy - 1883 to 1973. Chow Dong (Charlie) Hoy immigrated to Canada in 1902. He arrived in the interior of BC in 1905 and eventually settled in Quesnel where he opened C.D. Hoy and Co. Ltd in 1913. Hoy’s grew into Quesnel’s first department store.
