Quilt of Love

Tuesday, August 2, 2011. Yesterday, my mom came in town and between the two of us, we were able to finish up the matching pillow sham to go with her 100 Good Wishes Quilt. I think it turned out beautifully, but I'm a little bit biased. Thanks again mom. you're the best! As always, my mom does the sewing and I do the cutting and trimming. Monday, May 2, 2011. Binding is (mostly) attached! I think you know what I'll be doing over the next few weeks in the evenings! Wednesday, February 16, 2011. Got a surpr...

Quilt of Love: Pattern picked out!

http://www.quiltoflove.blogspot.com/2010/09/pattern-picked-out.html

Tuesday, September 14, 2010. Just means a little bit more sewing for my mom and I. Today I modified the pattern to fit a Twin sized bed. I can't wait to start on it. Probably won't have any time until the last week of September/beginning of October. It's going to take a while to make. I'll try to post progress photos as we get going on the quilt. Quilt of Love: The 100 Good Wishes Quilt top is done

http://www.quiltoflove.blogspot.com/2011/01/100-good-wishes-quilt-top-is-done.html

Monday, January 24, 2011. The 100 Good Wishes Quilt top is done. My mom came in today and we finished putting together the quilt top for our daughter's 100 Good Wishes Quilt. It turned out so beautifully! I just wish my daughter was here to be wrapped up in it. All in good time, I guess. I chose this pattern because it kind of reminded me of a basket weave - all the love being woven around her to keep her warm and loved all night long. Just don't look too closely! My mom sewing on the last of the sashing.

Quilt of Love: Starting the 100 Good Wishes Quilt

http://www.quiltoflove.blogspot.com/2010/12/starting-100-good-wishes-quilt.html

Tuesday, December 28, 2010. Starting the 100 Good Wishes Quilt. Well, yesterday I went to my parent's house so my mom and I could do round 2 of making our daughter's quilt (I forgot to take pictures when we first started it). I am so happy with the pattern and how it's turning out. I was in charge of trimming the blocks to the correct size for the pattern I created and then my mom did the sewing (the hard and long part! This pattern will have 108 squares which I figure means more love was put into it!

Quilt of Love: March 2010

http://www.quiltoflove.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 15, 2010. Where has the time gone? Well, It's hard to believe that it's been almost a year since I've posted on this blog. But, as the wait to our daughter has grown, the need to start working on her quilt hasn't been a priority. Here are a few photos from the day. Next, the harder one - the One Hundred Good Wishes quilt. I guess I better start working on a design for it! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). My Etsy Shop (Children's Customizeable Artwork). Quilt of Love: It's off at the quilter's

http://www.quiltoflove.blogspot.com/2011/02/its-off-at-quilters.html

Thursday, February 3, 2011. It's off at the quilter's. Today, I dropped the quilt off at Coleen's who will be doing the long arm quilting of our 100 Good Wishes Quilt. I had such a hard time deciding on what pattern to use for the all-over quilting. Then I had to decide on thread color. So many decisions. and I'd have to live with whatever I chose forever. It was not to be taken lightly. This is a pretty close representation of what I chose as the all-over pattern. I can't wait to see it all done.

Wednesday, October 10, 2012. Our First Family Day! One year ago today, Leah and Sarah were placed in our arms in a conference room in our hotel in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province in China. That morning was a blur. I just remember waking up all nervous. We were about to become parents and not to one child, but twins! What would it be like? Today we marked the occasion with chocolate cupcakes that they helped me make along with purple icing (their color choice). They LOVED licking the icing off the cupcakes!

Thursday, August 30, 2012. I was given Leah's information first and then Sarah's. When I got off the phone with CCAI, I immediately called Robert to to tell him "twins! I can't speak for him on how he got through the rest of his day. I do know that my day was crazy to say the least. I can't imagine life without these two amazing little girls! Friday, August 10, 2012. It's hard to believe that it has only been 10 months since we saw their beautiful faces for the very first time, but it has been. It seems like they've been a part of our lives forever. It's hard to even imagine life before they became part of our wonderful family. These girls light up a room and you can't not fall in love with them, even when they are being "nawny" (naughty). They love to go to the park, take walks (with purses in hand! Go to the mall, Costco (for crackers!

Wednesday, July 4, 2012. The girls have now celebrated their first 4th of July. The cute hair bows only lasted about 1 minute in their hair, but don't they look adorable in them! Every day new vocabulary pops up and the past few days they've now been saying "nawnie" (naughty! Yes, they can be that at times!
