Pixilated Ponderings: Cat Sigh
http://pixilatedp.blogspot.com/2008/05/cat-sigh.html
More observations on humans and their culture. Monday, May 19, 2008. Was my belly sticking out from my sweater? When I sat down, I quickly buried my face in a novel and pretended to not notice them noticing me. Of course, I was hyper-aware of their ridicule, which they heaped on every new passenger who boarded after me. When another woman walked by, they snorted and chortled and one of them muttered, "We should have tripped her! Shit, Megan was slashing guys' tires by then. These pointing, laughing a...

http://aaronstinerdrb.blogspot.com/2008/12/its-been-fun.html
Friday, December 26, 2008. Today is my last day with Valley of the Sun United Way. I leave with mixed emotions, excited about my new opportunity and sad about leaving all the great people I work with at United Way. They are great people doing great things, making a difference in countless lives and improving our community. As of January 12, 2009, I will serve as the Advancing Philanthropy program manager for the ASU Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation. Posted by Aaron Stiner. Subscr...

Pixilated Ponderings: March 2008
http://pixilatedp.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
More observations on humans and their culture. Tuesday, March 25, 2008. Jane Addiction Part 8 - Emma. Welcome to my 10 week critique of films based on the works of Jane Austen. I will review each installment of PBS's "Masterpiece: The Complete Jane Austen" and also take a look at other adaptations of the same novel. Enjoy! It's a shame that this little-remembered "Emma" was overshadowed by the thankfully forgotten feature film version that was also released in 1996. That Emma. Sunday, March 23, 2008.

More observations on humans and their culture. Tuesday, January 29, 2008. Jane Addiction Part 3 - Mansfield Park. Welcome to my 10 week critique of films based on the works of Jane Austen. I will review each installment of PBS's "Masterpiece: The Complete Jane Austen" and also take a look at other adaptations of the same novel. Enjoy! To gain the respect of a rather cold uncle? To comfort her cracked-out auntie? To win her dupe of a cousin’s heart? Which stars Frances O'Connor as Fanny. This adaptati...

Monday, March 9, 2009. I must be waxing philosophical today. I take the situation of me leaving messages and calling people, emailing people and the people not responding back and I turn it into a riff on the state of US culture and how it's affected by our cyber culture. I began thinking sometimes it seems like people just don't talk to each other. We spend our lives behind our computer screens, we don't even pick up the phone, sometimes we never leave our houses. Why does that not seem enough? Yes, I k...

Pixilated Ponderings: A Late Blooming Notion
http://pixilatedp.blogspot.com/2008/05/late-blooming-notion.html
More observations on humans and their culture. Sunday, May 4, 2008. A Late Blooming Notion. Ever since I turned thirty, I keep experiencing these striking moments of self-awareness. A random example: the whole time I was growing up in. And when they got bored with that, they would beat up on little kids, or at least one little kid - my eight-year-old brother. Couple. Other than my being a good four inches taller than him, we were a pretty well-matched pair of outcasts. 8221; That ride from. Beside my mom...
