Raising Adam - Welcome to my Website!

Welcome to Raising Adam. Here I write about the things that happen to us all; the funny, the frustrating, the miraculous and mundane things that happen to us all. I like to explore God's take on it all, and apply His word to our daily situations. It just seems to make more sense when I do. I also like to write about parenting and family matters because well, I have 4 kids and a hard working hubby who give me much to write about. I hope you visit often and draw encouragement from. Tami Overhauser - There's a light at the end of the tunnel

http://www.raisingadam.com/blog/2015/03/24/theres-a-light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel

There's a light at the end of the tunnel. On March 24th, 2015. Often I write about the angst of parenting and how it wears me out and how I cling to God for strength. True story because that is actually what I do most often. The way she moved about the kitchen, her mannerisms and her voice inflection reminded me of myself,( except taller and with better legs, you know, the way God intended it to be! In her own body, with her personality. Friends keep fighting the good fight and stay in the ring! Although...

How to Keep from Going Under. On August 31st, 2016. Well, ready or not, the school year has begun and this family is off and running. Monday morning had all 6 of us lined up on the starting blocks; startled by the abrupt early morning pistol pop, and out the door! Or the energy I had back then. There are days where I don't know which thing on which list to do first. Sometimes, honestly, I throw the lists in the air and watch Dr. Phil and eat cereal. GodMake it stop or help it take shape or something!

Tami Overhauser - Unbroken: When your people are hurting

http://www.raisingadam.com/blog/2015/04/18/unbroken-when-your-people-are-hurting

Unbroken: When your people are hurting. On April 18th, 2015. Watching my people hurt is unbearable. I am not unfamiliar with pain and suffering, heartbreak or disappointment, but I tend to handle it much better when it is my own pain. Hit me! I can take it! Please just not my people. I want to scoop them up in my arms, hold them tight, dry their tears and make it all better. I want to extract the pain from their hearts and endure it for them. Last night I watched the movie Unbroken. Do you know what?

Tami Overhauser - A Mother's Nest

http://www.raisingadam.com/blog/2015/05/12/a-mothers-nest

On May 12th, 2015. Lately I've been staying up late worrying about my family. The other night I literally watched a family member sleep. I think all good mamas willingly choose to loose sleep over their children. It's just what we do. As I sat up praying through the night, my thoughts turned toward my own mom and I wondered how she did it all. That probably explains all the sleepless nights too! Please God, let everything go perfectly for them.". A mother’s nest should be just that; an incubator for the ...

Raising a Child with Special Needs

Raising a Child with Special Needs. Product Review - Toys and Electronic. Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Speaking on behalf everyone? You're likely not helping any of us! Have you visited my child in the hospital or while he's ill and can't handle the emotional impact it has on you? Go ahead and tell me, I will understand, and I certainly wont be offended. Do you know what would bother me? Most likely very little. How did you react the first time you came face to face with a serious medical crisis? Miss some, a...

Raising A Creative Canine

Raising A Creative Canine. The introduction of a new puppy into a reactive multi-dog household. Kayden and Austyn (Final). Kayden is highly reactive to dogs and also exhibits possession aggression tendencies. If he gets frightened and panics, he will attack whatever or whoever is in front of him. He has never attacked a person but he certainly will go after any dog. When Austyn came home, I was very adamant that both dogs be separated. No surprise meetings! At feeding time, Austyn would stay in the kitch...

raising a daisy | education, parenting, nature,

Education, parenting, nature,. Another condensed blog post…. November 8, 2015. November 8, 2015. I’m a little lacking in my posts just recently. That’s not to say we haven’t had a blast! The Daisy has had the pin removed from her arm, her sport’s classes can soon resume. With all her other classes she will attend four sessions directed out of the home a week. I think maybe this might be enough? We borrowed a dog for the day. Focusing on the moments. October 24, 2015. October 24, 2015. My letter to you.

Raising a daughter in a world of pink toy aisles. Bedtime Stories…but for girls…. January 11, 2016. January 11, 2016. It was not the first time I’ve encountered it, but it was the first time it made me angry. Until yesterday I had always seen it as funny, harmless and nothing to do with us. I think yesterday was different, because it was a book, and she especially loves books. Surely they won’t get to books? But they did. A bedtime story book. A book designed to ignite dreams. Joe - Lindsay - Addison. Welcome to our blog. We hope you check often. We'll try to post often! Enjoy the pictures of our family! Thursday, May 28, 2009. On Monday we did a little yard work. Addison likes to help me in the garden. I showed her how to plant the peas in a nice row. Then I turned around and this is what I found. She was so excited about her work. Addison is also getting very good at opening the car doors. She gets in the car, puts on a seat belt and then tries to put the keys in the ign...
