Jackie's Ramblings

Monday, February 21, 2011. Just found a great digital humanities camp. That I would love to attend, since this is the direction I seem to be leaning toward with school and work. CoCoRahs. Also has daily precipitation collected by a network of volunteers. Links to this post. Sunday, October 31, 2010. Links to this post.

Jackie's Ramblings: August 2010

http://ramblingjackie.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Friday, August 27, 2010. Sunrise on the Farm. The trip to Ashley's bus stop takes me past a great view of the mountains in Estill Co. and this morning the fog was so thick you could see only the tops of them floating in a white mist just before sunrise. She kept looking at me, stomping her foot, and circling around to get a better view. After about a minute two other deer that I couldn't see ran off and she followed. Links to this post. Jackie's Ramblings: Library School

http://ramblingjackie.blogspot.com/2010/07/library-school.html

Saturday, July 10, 2010. I finally did it. Debbie kicked me in the behind and scheduled me to take the GRE back in the winter. I started my first class May 11 and it is complete. One down 11 more to go. Assuming, that is, I make it through this reference class. I'm sorry, but in my humble opinion this type of search strategy isn't efficient. We have moved way beyond card catalogs and Reader's Guide and static print encyclopedias. The new information world is dynamic, so why are we beating our hea...This ...

Friday, October 28, 2016. Paracord for Puppy and Prepping. Long time, no craft writing! Glad to be back as I have so many projects going on, like most crafters probably. I plan on posting themes over the next couple of weeks and this one is on paracord. I'm a bit of a prepper. But I used a jig rather than how she did it. I did try one and taping the cord to a table turned out to be frustrating for me. The first pic is of a collar that was gifted to another dog. Related reading and products mentioned:.

Journal of a Rambling Jack Russell Terrier. Thursday, October 10, 2013. Hiking High Marsh Trail over Bare Knolls. Axel stops for lunch and a break on Bare Knolls. Dad took my hiking on the north side of Mt. Tamalpais. I love it here; there are hardly any people and lots of beautiful scenery. Tuesday, February 10, 2015. Fibromyalgia and Food "Fix". Years back, when I worked a desk job, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I had been running regularly, working out, taking aerobic classes, and was very active (but not overly so). Slowly I got to the point where getting out of bed in the morning was painful. I hurt. I was miserable. Sleep was sporadic and I was slugging through the day. I ultimately went to see a nutritionist. Not your typical hospital nutritionist (here's your food pyramid, e...

Advice from Ira Glass. I came across this advice from Ira Glass today. I especially like the last two sentences. From Lifehacker, July 23, 2014. In an earlier section of the interview, Ira describes his post-interview process. I’m going to study it and see what I can incorporate into my own user experience research process. The most important resource for parents. My number one project. I have undertaken the mother of all projects: motherhood. It will offer countless opportunities for success, failur...
